I was one click away from buying this and though hold up lets get the opinions from people other than family members!
The specs i chose were almost as follows processor 3.3 standard option, 8gb ram, ati radeon hd 6970 2gb (not sure which GC to have on any system i buy tbh), no OS as I have every OS legit already and a few extras like lighting total £900.35 inc vat. this was the first page i looked at and no doubt a better deal is out there.
also looked at http://www.computerplanet.co.uk may be a cheaper option but still the VAT in the UK sucks no matter what you buy it's a kick in the balls!

Re: What computer to buy.
It's a good card, about £260 on its own.http://www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk/hex- ... p-132.html
I'd honestly expect more RAM than that for that price, but 4GB is acceptable. The board supports a large amount of RAM though so you can upgrade in the future as you've got 2 spare slots.
Terabyte is good, Seagate is good.
I'm not familiar with the CPU, apparently its AMDs I5, so good enough.
Etc. Overall to build it yourself in some crappy case would cost you..£630, so you are paying £60 for the case and then £180 for the assembly and warranty, so yeah. Although personally I prefer both Nvdia and Intel over ATI Radeon and AMD but oh well.
Although if you have got 8GB RAM and the price is £900 then it's more like £650 overall to make, £60 on case and whatever on lighting and like £160 on warranty/assembly, depends how much you're spending on the lights and such.
To summarize, good computer that'll be future proof for a while, so go for it if you're ok with spending that bit extra.

Haha that's what I did in the end! Shame I cant spend that much
I found a nice site for building your own pc http://www.computerplanet.co.uk/ i found a graphics card you can add for 5,000 + if i remember correctly. still going to shop around before i spend 1k on a rig i could get for 600 if i build myself.

Alienware - currently built by Dell, shoddy hard drives, cooling systems and power units. Guarentee'd to explode 13 months down the line.Reemix wrote:Buy ALIEN WAR or ACER PREDACTOR
Acer - Low end chipsets and components, coupled with slow RAM and unhealthily overclocked processors leads to burn outs.
If you're buying prebuilts - Asus, Sony, Gladiator to name a few that rarely have problems.

Asus, I concur with my usual perceived pomposity.
I have a Packard Bell with Celeron/Nvidia. It's probably not great, but somehow I like this machine. It seems to take abuse well.
