Shadowrunner's Server hosted by dxmp.net
Objectives:
To provide a place for mappers to experiment and test maps or host final versions.
To bring you maps which will provide both fast action and great RPG.
To celebrate the diversity and talent of the mapping community.
To provide a battleground for players of any level.
This server does not intend to:
Host 0-aug games.
(We dont intend to compete with 0-aug servers and 0-aug mappers are already amply served by DXMS.)
Host Stock Maps.
(By hosting only custom maps, we aim to balance the game between more experienced players and less experienced players.)
The server is looking for admins, I'd like to hear from FGS, mappers and in fact anyone who applies will receive genuine consideration for admin. The server is run by an FGS member, the rules of FGS apply. Respect all players. Enjoy, have fun and let me know what you think...complain by all means, but if you intimidate a player cos simply he is less experienced and less able, you will be warned twice and then banned on sight, the same applies vice-versa, if you repeatedly disturb a game, or fail to heed more experienced players polite requests, you can expect a ban. Teamklling and cloning and various hax will not get me mad or you banned, I will just laugh at you, so don't bother...
At the moment 4 beta maps are up. By the end of the week/later, once I know what maps will be dxms and what not, we will have about 8 maps in final version, plus we intend to host some oldies but goldies.
Please bear with us in the first few days, the maps will be changing. Also gametype may well change...
I've never run a server before, so please feel free to comment/suggest or apply for admin or maphosting or maptesting. I'd also like to thank DXMP.NET for hosting and taking much time to walk me through the basics of running a server and FGS and DXMS for their support.

It's on 20 now, if advanced players continue to play with the noobs there on current settings and don't grumble too much, I'll keep it on 4 augs, but for now I think atdm may be too much for some people. Even I noticed some real diehards would rather play 2 v 2 on Sunny Side CMD, than come to FGS which was nearly full, and play the new maps and look around. Maybe it will be possible to run 2 servers in the future, we will see.
OFF-TOPIC, thank you Icho/Roi or whoever fixed the movement bug on Wunderland1 and Wunderland 2, I had an amazing game there yesterday.
See you on Wunderland?

I've seen old players returning recently and doing far worse than that... I wanted to leave this clan because of my score, but I persevered and got a new PC and help from ppl in this clan and others and I can snipe now....sort of.
Yes, [A]Nobody said the German textures made him "wet". I've never used photoshop to originate artwork before, so I found it hard to inject texture into the textures and make them look 3-dimensional.
I guess what makes the best player, is being good every day and having luck too. You wouldn't believe how many times my rifle jammed/reloaded against Clix.
Definitely there is going to be a FGS mansion map, possibly a fun map. Textures will be German. If you have any ideas/photos that would be great. Icho already told me his.
Your English is better than my German so I will be asking for help.

Sorry a double post. A PC was broken 4 days...
I changed server settings. Now players must choose skills on spwning...
Maps[0]=MemorialBETASR
Maps[1]=CS_CZ_Prodigy
Maps[2]=DXMS_NostroCorp
Maps[3]=AMTRACK
Maps[4]=EscapeFromNewYork3
Maps[5]=District12_0
Maps[6]=ImperatorBETA
Maps[7]=Gravity_00
Maps[8]=Prometheus
Maps[9]=DXSG_Area51_TheDayAfter_BETA_9
Maps[10]=DXMS_NostroCorp
We expect augged versions of Covert and Blockade. I have had requests for Towers, MCI, 8Red, Bh_7, BFHP2, RPG_City... I'm gonna make sure I know all those maps, but my thinking for now is to give preference to maps that are new or versions that are new. So if there is a RPG_City4 compatible with server settings, yes I'd host it.

Due to ShadowRunner's somewhat unceremonious banishment from the Deus Ex Mapper Society, I am withdrawing the offer of an edited version of DXMS_Blockade for the server.
On a side note, why is Nostro included twice?

just no reason... it's already changed...
well you'd better remove Amtrack from your maplist... it's got gep, so no-one is voting it anyway...
while they are the major source of mapping feedback, to be honest I found it almost impossible to map for dxms. EscapeFromNewYork is "too big", Gravity met with no response at all, others are "not aligned to grid", but I have done exactly as instructed by dxms in that respect. It wasn't until I saw your posts about pivots, did I have any inkling that Jon didn't actually tell me how to align to grid, but how to use a pivot instead. So with fps problems on some of the maps, I am left wondering why did Jon not tell me, but give me instead what seems to be an incorrect answer, or incorrect as far as you are concerned. Also it was a bit of a surprise to say the least, that none of these maps were ever intended for the 0-aug server.

Slightly better news for you, though - just submitted a new aug-based map for testing to the boys.
I don't get to bypass the standard procedure just becuse I'm one of the ringmasters, really.
Oh, and I don't get to control the maplist. That's entirely Jon's domain, hes the only guy other than Icho with FTP server access.

I guess it's natural two people don't say the same thing, but last week Jon actually offered me admin on your forthcoming augged server, so I was surprised to hear that I am totally banished from dxms...
As an admin of dxms, you know I never put a foot wrong, that no-one ever complained about me etc... It's simply I made that thread public because it appeared to me that you two were up to something very dastardly. I'm human, I can even admit the mistake and I do realize how big it is, so I don't see the reason to throw me out to be honest. kind of makes it hard for me to finish DXMS_Tobruk with Jon etc, if I can only access the public/non-projects part of the site.
I mean... I was originally asked to make maps for the 0-aug server...
