A version mismatch is occurring with your renderer.
Because of this, the renderer can not initialize.

Have you installed a dutch translation for the singleplayer? If so, try uninstalling it and run again in safe mode.
Have you installed a patch? If not, I recommend 1.3 for COD2, that's the most popular and most useful.
Do both single and multiplayer present this error message when trying to run?

if patch doesn't help, try changing your cd-key and crack.
