Increasing bitrate of mp3

I think its pretty common problem with 128kbps files, Ive experienced that as well. Have you tried the programs recommended above?

Why the hell are you increasing the bitrate anyway, you're unnescessarily increasing the file size. Why don't you just find the initial file in a higher bitrate?

EDIT: it was the second google result when i searched "does bitrate affect volume".... it isn't the bit rate, it is how the file was encoded.

I use winamp, I'm not a big fan of fubar. I prefer the library style of Winamp.
