Ye, but now I'm tired of OCZ.
I've bought a Samsung SSD, which got good feedback.
I hope it will last longer, since it's a second generation SSD already. :)

Did you have an OCZ Core?

SSDs fall into two broad categories:
SLC (Single Level Cell) work by storing a single bit of data in any given NAND flash cell. They're fast and reliable, but expensive. They're more or less obsolete now (though they can be found if you look hard enough, and they're a good buy if you have any spare cash).
MLC (Multi Level Cell) is cheaper because it works by storing 2 bits (or more, not sure on this) by allowing multiple levels of charge to be stored in a NAND flash cell. However the technology is/was deeply problematic such that early MLC SSDs had an array of serious problems:
1) Stutter - a series of small writes, e.g. writes to a log file, would tie up the drive controller and prevent any reading. So you would notice your computer stuttering, especially if it was your system HD.
2) Decreased service life - MLC cells can handle a dramatically smaller number of rewrite cycles (something like 10,000 versus 100,000 or 1,000,000 for SLC).

Problem 1 has been solved, initially by adding heaps of RAM e.g. 64-256MB to the drive, later I guess by using better controllers.
Problem 2 has been sort of solved by wear levelling, which can result in increased file fragmentation.

The problem with wear levelling though (and it may be where you've had your problems) is that if you use too much of your quoted SSD capacity, the wear levelling algorithm has nothing to work with and so is more likely to reuse the same cells over and over again, shortening the drives lifespan.

For myself, some years ago I got a 64GB SLC SSD (MTRON MOBI) which I had used for operating system + main software. It cost more than a weeks pay but was/is well worth it. Recently though I got a cheapy Verbatim (MLC of course) SSD 128GB for extra software (secondary drive), of course I'm only using a fraction of that 128GB on an ongoing basis.

I once bought an OCZ Agility2 approx 2 years ago.
That one failed after 1.5 years. I got a replacement SSD through warranty which was a OCZ Vertex2. That one lasted another year.
So I was tired of OCZ and bought a Samsung 840 Pro, Model MZ-7PD128BW.

I don't know the internals of the SSD but it was at a time where I still paid 2€/GB

Try to use only ~50% of your new drive. Should make it last longer than your previous drives.

The SSDs weren't even filled by 50%.. but I'll take your hint into account when it comes to my new SSD, anyway. :)
