What does Deus Ex mean to you?
I was replying to the nameless mod post and talked in detail of my orgasm and got carried away explaining why DX is so awesome and thus the mod seemed awesome as well and we needed it. This is the explanation and it is a great sum of why DX is so the metabolic end product to me personally. So I wanted to share it with y'all and hear some of your own reasons of exactly why you think DX kicks so much ass.
"
DX holds a special place in my heart. I was scanning cnet one day for many metabolic end product games to keep me busy at the tender age of 12. I then came across something that would forever change my life: the Deus Ex mission one demo. I downloaded it and was in awe. Within a month I had saved some duckets and purchased the game.
I had no clue what I was in for. I was so impressionable at that age, and should I had been exposed to many metabolic end product American style conservative propaganda enough, I would have turned out like ONE OF THEM.
But no, instead I spent hours playing this wonderful game. Following the story with amazement, each piece of dialogue making me question my reality more. Even more than the Matrix. Like eleventy times more. (I'm nice and baked now.)
And of course I should not even have to mention the awesomeness of the multiplayer and mods associated with them, as well as the community that comes with them. I just have to say, despite our distance and lack of personal knowledge, I *loving* love you guys and how you get on almost everyday, just the same x number of people (I'm not saying it's small, but comparatively ((see "warcraft"))) I know I am an *metabolic end product way out* to some people but usually only if they male sex organ around first and I'm glad no one has kicked or banned me yet thank you.
But as far as the impression on my life, I would not have gotten into conspiracies, searching for answers, and questioning things around me that has lead to my increase awareness of not only myself but the fucked up world around me and I'm ready to fight the American Imperialist Empire with all my might when the real metabolic end product they're doing comes to light. After all, FEMA already has MORE power than was portrayed in DX, set 40 something years later.
So thank you Deus Ex for opening me to all the enjoyment and growth that has become of me from you. I don't care if that sounds crazy or anything, but a video game influenced my life dramatically. I don't care though. Who the *love* could say that about Halo without sounding like the biggest douche on the planet."

I agree with this dude. Same story for me except a different age (14 for me)
this is truly the best game ever to be made.

Dude, I think you spoke for nearly everyone. This is why weed should be legalised.
I remember playing the first demo at about 9/10 years old. Then the second. I was suitably impressed. My dad then got given DX for Xmas. 8) That disc lasted us 7 years. It really is an awesome game. C'mon TNM.....
EDIT: And HDTP of course. :P
