I have never been so excited to learn and create something as I have with my mapping/mod project.

I know it will be long. I know it will take time. I have much to learn and many a headache to look forward to.

I came here just to let some of y'all know I won't be seen much here OR in games. I am really going to study and practice until eventually I am skilled enough to flow through Unreal ED, code and all.

So sorry for all the hype, I believe some of you were under the impression I'd be able to crank this out with x number of months, but this will probably not see completion until next year. However, by completion, I mean the mods AS WELL AS several maps to go along with the new and improved play style.

I'll be by now and again to check up on y'all and to get some help when I need it. Right now I am compiling resources: getting all of the editing sites together, downloading every help file, getting any side programs needed (UC Mod loader, Mesh converter etc) From there, it is tutorials over and over again, all day. Any veteran mapper here please give me a full list of everything you think I should have in case I miss anything.

Also, I am planning to join the US military (yuck I know) but unemployment here in Georgia is getting fierce, and it is literally the desire to have the resources to complete all of my DX goals that is making me put my beliefs aside to have a worthwhile future to be able to program games.

Eventually, as in a few years, I intend to have a perfect mod, many maps and to host my own server. I DON'T WANT DX TO EVER DIE! When I get back and refine my skills, I expect to come and find ALL OF YOU here ready to revitalize the community with my insane mod and all of it's ass-stompery.

omg the military... don't join the National Guard, they *love* you over the worst.

and you should make sure you read ALL the fine print of the contract you sign; with a lawyer if you have to. make sure that you understand exactly what you are agreeing to. A lot of people go in the military to get more schooling but they get in and find out that they agreed to an extra 2 years if they decide to want school paid for. they will also do shitty things like decrease your pay if you decide to go to school.

just don't go to the russian military... they'll either rape you, kill you, or send you to work digging stuff, only with your trusty russian digging machines - NTS-25 and SPS-40 (Normal Tactical Shovel-25cm and Special Purpose Shovel-40cm)
