Last night I was sniffing around the DXAlpha knowledge base to reinforce my own and I came across a couple of things in the Weapon Damage Guide I did not know, but am unsure as to the validity. Three main points actually:
1. The base damage without any enhancements for the Dragon Tooths Sword is only ten, whereas BOTH the combat knife AND sword are an even 20. Are they really twice as powerful? And if that is the case, why does anybody bother with the DTS in DXMP? Why not just use the combat knife?
For most of the weapons, as I assume most of you know it displays the base damage, then other values where enhancements from Targeting or Cobat Strength has been added as well as vs. reducing factors like Energy Shield. Bringing me to points 2 and 3:
2. It lists ALL grenades as being increased with BOTH Targeting AND Combat Strength. Is not Combat Strength only for Low-Tech? Since when did it help nades?
3. When using a LAM or a LAW it lists Energy Shield as the versus aug that reduces damage, but not Ballistics Protection. Do both of them reduce explosion damage, or just Ballistics and this is a fluke?
Thanks guys. I certainly trust DXAlpha, just wanted to double check with all of you and increase me own smarts a bit.

2. Combat Strength increases the throw distance and Targeting increases ALL weapon
skills +1
3. Using ADS and Energy shield allows you to survive a LAW and a LAM Hit.
Me and DZ tested it, I survived 3 LAW hits in a row.

DTS has more range, thats why most of the people use it..
You can check out the code, and there MPRanges etc.
I am sure DTS's MP damage is more!! Atleast it should be....

I remember an argument on Alpha about DTS and Combat Knife. Dan from B2S said that the combat knife is the stronger one. Even if he's right would I never use it unless I have the speed augmentation.
Ballistics is for bullets and melee attacks only, doesn't have an effect on rockets and explosions.
I use ballistics because it gives me a great chance to flee from fights when I'm low on bio/ammo/hp. I can deal much damage in augs without the targeting augmentation.
ADS+EnergyShield indeed increases your chances against explosions and rockets: (When you have ADS turned on when dealing with an explosion you receive only 85% of the actual damage. When you turn on Energy Shield, you receive 35%. This is still no reason to stand still when someone throws a LAM at you, you will probably need a speed boost augmentation aswell. This combo eats up lots of bio though, make sure you have at least 2 biocells on you.)
