because of a ingredient that can make you insane if you use it on a regular bases. it makes you hallucinate and stuff (this is called Alsem, at least in DutchChris wrote:omfg why
). Absynthe is being sold in belgium but without this key ingredient. Absynthe has been the favourite drink of many artist (who drank it till they died of it) like Toulouse - Lautrec (a french painter) Van Gogh (it made him cut his ear of to give to his 'girlfriend' lol) and many more.I have drank it once, but i'm not that big a fan of alcohol so...
