ok here is what you should do:
1. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your GFX card.
2. The game runs on laptops with Intel's GMA 950, most Radeons and GeForces 3/4/5xxx and better with at least 64 MB VRAM on it.
3. Have at least 256 MB RAM.
4. Lag? Turn off all p2p's and MSN. No need to turn off xfire.
5. 800 MHz processor is fine.
6. Try to set maximum FPS (in System) to 60 or 55.

Sort servers by ping, and enter the one with the lowest ping. Low ping = under 80. Also turn off torrents.

I got a 2.6gig i think processor and 512 ram and it plays ok to me, i got an old geforce card 5200 i think or 4700.

I tend to find servers that say they have 9-10 players and it turns out that it's just me there :P

I tend to play in the AD or AT server it's usually full, I also like to play survival, uptown is probably my favourite along with subway and some other map which is based in a town.

Not a big fan of CTF to be honest, I don't understand the scoring system, any idea how they work out the scores on CTF?

kill = 1 frag
get the enemy flag = +1 frag
capture the flag = +10 frags for you, +5 for teammates and +1 score for your team
