I think the size of the crosshair pretty much defines the spread of the gun 
The smaller the c.h. is, the less it's going to spread while shooting.
I don't use the knife, not even when I could get the enemy from the back. Because if you want a silent kill, use silencer. If you want a quick kill and you are behind the enemy, just simply shoot a bullet in the head (or two if he has helmet).
UMP is strong, accurate but slow. I think we can agree on that.
You can spray-kill someone with anyone, it all depends on the distance between you and the enemy. If your gun is accurate, it will remain accurate longer when spraying than a non accurate gun.
