This is really taking the urine now, i mean for god sake we have had to change forums so many times due to them being hacked, attacked or what ever you call it. This must have been like our fifth forum we had to make. It's actually getting to the point where we feel there is no point in staying in a community where we can't even have forums for a few months without them being attacked. Besides this game is dead any way so what is there to lose.

I don't think its phpBB3 problem.... I would guess that something on the host
is insecure.

DZ has told me to mention he wouldn't mind hosting RTK @ deus-ex.net.
It's highly doubtfull anyone break into there. SQL Injection of any sort
is imposable on his host.

As long as there is software, there will be holes, there will be exploits, and there will be lame-ass script kiddies that use the above mentioned exploits without even knowing how the hell do they work.

If your clan relies on a forum for its existence chances are it would be dead already. My suggestion, forget about a forum for awhile. DXMP clans glamorize them as a need. However, if you're really so determined to have a forum I would be prepared to overlook RTK's past slights and provide you with a board that can't be taken down by some petulant child.

Oh come on, of course if you have such a tight-knit group where you can call up your peeps everytime you want to clan war, yeah your point has SOME sustinace to it, but this is the information age. The forum provides far too many pros to be ignored, not to mention without an open forum any newbies who don't have their head up their ass and can contribute good things to the community would be hard to get in.

It can't be overlooked that the DX community qualitatively contains clans who measure their value by their forum.

I can't even count the amount of times people from DX have said HK are newbs just because we don't take care of our auxiliary forums.

Let's be frank here, RTK can easily continue to thrive as a clan without a forum. Most gaming communities rely on messengers and single page websites for distinction and to organize matches (or they did back in my hay day). A forum has become an excessive commodity. Excessive by means that in the DX community it is less necessary than other games where clan wars happen far more often and the clans are much larger.

Forums are important for a clan because it shows that the clan is alive and kicking and it also a way for all the members to communicate with each other and keep up to date with what is happening with the clan because lets face it, when you have members from all over the world, you won
