Or...just give him a chance and if he screws up he's out...
No need for drugtests I say, so what if he smokes pot, if he don't do it while he's not working for me...who gives a flying *love*?

The fact that taking drugs is ILLEGAL could be a contributing effect to the necessity for drug testing. Nothing in the world is more old fashioned than business and if a member of your team is found being a frequent user of a particular drug it could bring your company into disrepute and may hinder possible business prospects.

Lots of things are illegal, they don't check those...

I agree, but a chance would be in order here (see the underlind words)

I'd love to see any logical business man trust a junkie with an excessive amount of money or responsibility. Weed lowers ambition, fact. Ambition is essential for business, fact.

well honestly it makes no sense because statistically at least half of everyone in any business does drugs. And think about this, just about everyone drinks, and a small percentage of those people drink constantly. businesses don't test for alcohol but when someone comes into work drunk they are fired. why can't it work the same way for drugs?
weed only lowers ambition while under the influence, there is no real evidence that weed causes people to have less ambition. That myth is basically a statistical fallacy, because generally the loss of ambition happens before anyone uses weed. (don't get me wrong I am not saying everyone who uses weed, uses it because they have no ambition)
really the fact is that they do require drug tests and that will not change for a very long time.
