Firstly, I didn't have a problem with the bots - It'd be pretty fun if you could make it work.ShadowRunner wrote:The idea from another clan member is that datacubes and books will contain information which will help the player to win the game. Info on how to quickbind altfire, or visit our clan forums, or perhaps use of augs etc are just some initial ideas.Magus wrote:The problem with all of these suggestions (bar the first one) is actually finding a viable use for those items in a competitive context. Standing around and reading datacubes and books and terminals all day isn't going to help you when three enemies are busy pumping you full of lead - and even ignoring that, what kind of information could those objects possibly give to aid the player who took the time to use them? Stock MP keypads don't accept codes, stock MP terminals don't accept logins... there's not a lot left you can give to the reader that will help in said competitive context.ShadowRunner wrote:I mean...
1. Securitybots and Military bots controlled by teams like turrets, through use of security computers.
(I dont want some smartass to tell me it can be done, go and friggin do it! now! link me to the .u file asap, for DXSG new server plz)
2. PC's - I want login and send infolink messages to other players via player lists. PM's if possible. Not too big a message. And J-C, it's been 6 years and I don't ever get an e-mail in DXMP, always same, every day, no e-mails... in fact maybe infolink tells me i have a pm, then I have to find a pc to read my message...
3. Datacubes - it's ten years now guys and datacubes still dont tell me metabolic end product.
4. Books - when the frig is a book gonna be readable.
Also the bot idea, is really to bring something fresh after 10 years, I think it will be a lot of fun to take a security comp over and watch a bot rampage amongst the enemy. Since they move, it would be a fluid aspect to the game, the tables could turn at any moment.
