channels/patterns are used for specific 'part' of the music. If you've noticed, each UMX file has 6/5 parts. These parts are on a one file. How? well, divided into channels. They then have numbers or something you can add them to. The number represent some parts.. and then when converted to DX, DX reads those numbers and plays it on specific conditions they have coded. These parts are.. well, Death, Conversation, Ambient, Outro, Combat. (perhaps even Intro).

Most of that is irrelevant when it comes to DXMP

meh why did they remove it anyway.. the outro or conversation. THEY SHOULD HAVE ADDED CONVERSATIONS. OR THE COMBAT. WHY REMOVE COMBAT

But Area 51 for example, that music isnt only the bunker epic sound is it... There's a dancy track I've heard, and also another dancey track I've heard which I can't find listening to 1.

that dancy track is Combat part of Area 51's music
I think if you write 57 on the track number, it gets played on ambient.
