Yes, you get damage more LAM like but the efffect was more EMP like from what I recall.
How you get it back next weed if you lost it?

Nukedeath + low grav is supposed to be like the Matrix or something and that's why some newbs want a "fix", they see it as broken.
The only thing wrong with nukedeath, is that it didn't work for a few years and as a result, zero aug maps crept onto altfire. FGS is the ONLY surviving server and clan at the end of ten years of DXMP. There is nothing wrong with 2003-2008 style Altfire, it is the only surviving server in DXMP since 2004. It's hilarious people want to "fix" it. If it aint broke, don't fix it.
Ask Icho, but I think a part of Altfire has always been a place to enjoy maps like Cybris or Neocron. At least it is encouraging to see that newer members can live with Nukedeath. Neocron has been removed (might have been me actually), someone suggested removing Cybris, also Fly The Planes with Icho's photo has been removed, despite being a few member's favourite map, while more and more smaller maps creep in. I hope admins can see the value of "showpiece" maps, unusual maps or maps which inspire people to download SDK. Also I'm still figuring how you expect people to mapvote on such small maps.
Some of you don't understand it fully, some of you don't believe in it fully, it shows when you constantly try to change it.
DXAG needs your attention far more than Altfire, very few maps, only version 1 seems to be available, so killer medics. Just a bit more effort and that mod could cater literally for the whole community. Altfire will never do that, so why try to make perfect gameplay, small maps, why conform to what I can find on every other server? Let Altfire be unashamedly different. Law of attraction requires confidence, to fill that server you need to be on it every day, showing why Altfire is actually a challenge.
Sorry I don't know how to say in simple English, but you need "courage of your convictions", don't pander to newbs.
Maybe have some clan wars and tourneys, raise the reputation of it, show that it is bloody hard and skilled and how and why.

once I thought about creating
(getting someone else to create..:$) a mod like that, making modified augs for big safe jumps, lots of pistols with great damage, no machineguns, respawning movers for breaking glasses, respawning tnt boxes for big explosions etc...

The reason I made the thread in the first place is because there were a few people complaining about it (there was only four or so people in the server at the time) and so I thought well, if three out of four people in the server at that time don't like it, does this reflect with the larger community?, but clearly reading the comments here, it does not.

it just gives unfair advantage to people with low sensitivity
