I, personally, despise nukedeath. I think it's the worst aspect of altfire, imo.

I think it's hilarious!

Yesterday me and two teammates where going after this one poor illegitimate child. We killed him very quickly but unknown to me, one teammate got poisoned. Three seconds later we all died in a surprise nuke explosion.

Personally I would change the server drastically. I would have a mix of all sizes of map including new maps from the FGS 0 augs server. Every map would have it's own unique set of weapons that would suit the size and style of the map.

It would be great if Someone could make HD versions of the weapons along with edited weapon stats.

Different maps sizes would be good, but as you say.. it required a custom adaption of the weapon set for each map and I for one know I have not the time to perform that.. furthermore I'm not a friend of editing maps just to change the placed items. 8-[
However, that doesn't mean that I wouldn't replace the original maps with the edited ones, if one finds the time and leisure to edit them.

Adding maps from 0aug server is no problem in my eyes, as long as they're suitable for altfire, which is not the case for each map. :-k

Unfortunately I can't find the thread where the altfire maplist was suggested and updated the last time (approx 3 months ago).
There we could re-read why some maps were removed which are suddenly suggested again now.

It's your server, you're free to do what you wish, but removing maps that aren't even finished seems a bit strange.

You have quite strong opinions like "should" etc... that's your view, not everyone's, some people want Abydos.

What is the reason for removing Stargate maps that not many people have played. Some people actually like Abydos and it's not even finished, there are skins and weps to add in future plus another couple of SG maps to come. If the problem is not enough teleporters, then fair enough, it can be fixed.

Personally I don't see the problem with having the biggest and most diverse collections of maps possible. Let people decide. Making the maplist smaller just brings you back to the argument about having 2 servers with different types of map. Also by preventing others from hosting altfire servers, you make the entire community fit to Majster's choice. How does this figure. The reason you want it removed, is because people are voting it and like it and you don't. If people are voting maps like this regularly, then maybe they need more choice?

The only should, is that you should be adding to the maplist, not taking away...

Maybe I have strong opinions too, but I don't do silly like you Majster. When a clan member's map came up, that you didn't like, you practically were spamming the server for players to agree about a mapchange. Some player not me, voted that map, and you were going to change map, then we asked you to keep it on Concordia. That is too strong opinions my friend. What is the point of mappers trying if admins are going to abuse the mapvote. Fear used to do it too, if anyone decides to camp. The player who voted that map, didn't speak, so you would have overridden the vote, I think this is wrong.

The answer is make the maps you prefer to play, or find them and add them, you can't start controlling people's choices.

The problem is that when the list of maps to vote for becomes too big people either don't vote or vote half assed, I know I do anyway.

I respect that, but I think it's crazy if every server in Deus Ex is going to have like 6 maps... and sad.

I think it is inevitable that people will have to consider why I left, people telling people what they can and can't enjoy etc.

2 low grav servers is inevitable, it was how things were before.

Have a small selection on the "A" server of only the best maps that you are happy with

and on the "B" server put all the SG maps, Cybris, all other classics and other less "fight" maps.

Then everyone is happy. One of these days, FGS will realize this.

There's enough fans and members that cost would be like $.50 per month each.

Rollo, I'd appreciate it, if you quoted the people you're answering to. I'm not sure what part of that post is directed to me and what's directed to Majster..

And please. Do NOT turn this thread into an argument about yourself again. [-(

take mapvote mod off. it only causes arguments between players who will vocalise their map preferences and argue about it (who voted for this metabolic end product?!?!11one!. etc etc.) and it also stops some maps being played that would otherwise be better known.
i don't think most players even use it anyway.

and i have an issue with some unfinished maps
if maps are unfinished then they needn't be running on the server, beta maps are the obvious exception.
Servers should really be for finished and beta maps only.

I use the mapvote mod. imo keep it on putt all the maps back on and just let players have the choice, if they start moaning about certain maps then ts :-D

I'm talking about this topic Nobody, not you. Majster has strong opinions and they spill over in server, trying to login and change the mapvote from what players voted. No argument, just saying. So I'm just saying, Majster's opinions are strong that is all. There's no need to start removing people's hard work simply because you don't what like people are voting.

Two servers, it's the only way. It's the only way ever to keep ppl happy. Some low grav maps are not popular with people like Majster. That's fine. But why stop the rest enjoying? Oh, because the maplist is too big? lol, have 2 maplists then.

then you can have SG with SCLAW on one low grav server and on the other server tnag and much smaller maplist. Two servers is really the only solution. And it's not an attack on Majster, just showing the issue about the map debate, that he's not the only FGS member who logs in changes map, despite people obviously having voted. I',m not arguing, I've offered the solution, it's simple.

I agree with that idea, i seriously think you should at least begin a vote topic on it in FGS private board.

So, someone should finish these maps. Main problem with Abydos is, it's unfinished map and very big (more teleporters are needed). I like SG maps, for example CMD, Area51, Orbital Thag. More SG maps is no problem for me. ^^

This attack on my person wasn't needed, belive me... About 2 servers with diffrent maps, I think it's not bad idea, but I don't think second server is really needed. Here can be reached a consensus and can be many various maps. I showed my ideas, everyone can do it.
ShadowRunner wrote:The only should, is that you should be adding to the maplist, not taking away...
This way is also possible.

I remember this game well. It's funny, what you wrote here. :-D Let's check why it's funny...
There was two players who voted Temple_of_Concordia. It was me and Kiki. Kiki told me he made a mistake, because he wanted vote another map. At the same time Bary910 and MJ12 said they want another map also. We was speaking all time in Polish. :-D Kiki changed his vote, I could do same with mine. I asked everyone, who was online about change the map in English. Three players said they want keep Concordia, so there was 3:3 and I decided Concorida stay. There was no abuse from my side, I can't believe you could think like that about me. I was mediator in discuss.
ShadowRunner wrote:The answer is make the maps you prefer to play, or find them and add them, you can't start controlling people's choices.
I can't. I didn't do this, I don't do this, I won't do this.

So, show your ideas, your map list and stop complain!
