I would hope you choose maps with ALL weps...and vary the map styles too...

I challenge too, any FGS to a fight on DXSG maps or server or DXMS...

I'm shuddering at ALTFIRE. I'm better with OICW or on DXMS server with a pistol... I will have to work hard...if the map is long range, no cover, I know some energy rifle guy is going to make a mess of me...

don't worry shadow - I'm currently in the process of picking 10 maps worthy enough to be dubbed 'tournament standard'. This will include detail, team balancing, and use of weapon capability... its very likely that they'll all be outside, and I'm aiming to get them all to look and feel like its Deus Ex, and not UT or some other game, so modern day architecture is a must

i think we should play maps that we can get people laying grenades if you lay them in the right places you will certainly be head of the game. i mean stun grenades can be deadly as well i killed toss with one once. :lol:

Ok, I've put together a list of 10 maps to be uploaded to FGS 2, for you guys to get to grips with each map. These maps are:

it'll go on the agenda... we need to sort out the existing maps first before anything else

One of the greatest maps to be made fir mp imo. That and 8red.

I agree. I love House Arrest and I hate 8red =D.

I will fight anywhere...but if I can choose...with the greatest of respect that list really sucks a lot...Toss has made good suggestions...

1. Enemy at the gates
2. CMD
3. I would also add Bunker or
4. I would add a DXSG map for team matches...low grav I would choose DXSG CMD...in which case remove DXMP_CMD and add DXMP_Area51Bunker
5. DXMP_Canyon Base? Maybe unbalanced for team games...

DXMP_Proteus - One of my favourite maps but a bit small...Turrets cover most of the open space...it could boil down to who spwned first...
DXMP_8Red - Not really very balanced IMO...but I dont object. I'd say its ok for 1 v 1 matches...but not for team games...

DXMP_Cathedral - PMSL I cant even connect to this map...
DXMP_Paris - I'm being shot at before I even cross the street...

I also think testing FGS purely on ALTFIRE is going to give misleading results... we have many USA players and players who are new to low grav etc. Also If it was purely large open maps like 8red and House Arrest, then you can guess already who is going to win...It would be interesting to fight Bean and Xikron on Z server and then fight them on DXMS... It would also be interesting to fight Faction and Magus on Altfire and then rematch on say DXSG or a USA server...

these are just thoughts, but that list could make ppl fret without a stock map and a good battle map like Enemy at the Gates...

On that list, Towers is the only one I am 100% comfortable with...if I die 100 times to energy rifles, I know it is no battle of the PC's, but that I really did suck...8red and House Arrest, I wont be convinced...
And umm did I miss something or is this a 0-aug tournament only then?
