Imo Shadow, we should remove any negative comments while EM is looming ahead, we don't want to lose any credibility as a team in front of them, even if there are issues

tbh I wonder if Chinny is alright.

There is some basic problem to not understand that EM and Hengsha team want to do the Xmas preview and I feel now I have to private the project forums, but if I do, people will call me tyrant.

Again the only post by Chinny is about his map, which includes a complaint about Chees, not the first either about his fellow clan member.

Chees has already been scheduled not to start on the second map until January, AFTER the preview, feedback, ideas, support that will come and plenty of team discussion about which Hengsha levels and how the mission givers will fit into the story and characters. Chinny for some reason is ignoring this, ignoring the demo map or questions about it and purely discussing his map, while publicly complaining about Chees, or the quality of the demo map, instead of working on it.

Chees IS actually working on the demo map and discussing it and is "onboard" and therefore is part of the team.

I feel now I have to lock the CP and private the forums and hide this mess until Chinny understands the team voted to go with the demo map and at this time, "one year on" parody/pastiche of the dxmp release after single player. Either people are part of the team or not. It's the same democratic way as FGS. It's not like I fired all the mappers who did their own thing instead, everyone is welcome, but there is a democratic principle of teamwork and discussion.

Oh and why Shadow calls the shots on Hengsha? Not really, I just put forwards the team consensus mostly, discuss decisions with core members. However there was a work agreement between Chinny and I and for Cozmo/Hengsha, once we realized we were building 2 RPG's together. Oh and it was my idea to make MP HR. Chinny's idea to vamp Cozmopolis.

This is my response,
Spoiler:
No point in complaining about Chees in public here. He's not scheduled to work on the RPG map until next year, after the preview and after the team sat down and figured which Hengsha levels, which missions, characters, what the 3-mission NPC's will do in the MP game.

This can not be done until after the demo map is finished and we have previewed it, gained more team members, support, ideas and feedback to shape the actual RPG release.

We are working on the demo map. This is all we require from you at this stage, thank you.

Chees is actually also helping on the demo map right now, discussing it and also we are working on the DJ booth together.

This.

By complaining about Chees in public and complaining about the demo map, when he could been the mapper anytime, and saying we should cancel the demo and now ignoring discussion about the month ahead, but talk entirely about the RPG map, it just shows the devs and fans that dxmp is uninvestable, unsupportable and we can't work together. I have really no idea why he would not speak to a team member first, but suddenly announce all this to the EM community guys. There are other accounts which are EM on our forums, just they are not part of the team.

This. It was a serious app. Or maybe I shoulda just carried on wearing the tag.

..I don't understand the situation fully.. but from what I can understand.. aren't you being hypocritical and doing the same on your shoutbox, too? instead of talking to your team members privately you're coming here talking all this in public? :-s

no because it has since been deleted.
public
Well GIVE ME PRIVATE SECTION then rofl :D
Anax is right. A certain irony to your question.
And maybe the project needs a private section, but then which of the 42 contributors do I include exactly?
Bear in mind musical director is EM's forum community guy.

Irregardless of whether I am Adolf Hitler, a hypocrite, noob etc, the team and EM want to release at Xmas.

And I am a grumpy old man who shouldn't be in a clan.

I'm staying out of this as much as possible, because it seems to me that it's a Hengsha project problem and not much to do with FGS other then some of its members being involved in the project, and your complaint seems to be directed at Chinny. But that comment by Anax is completely irrelevant to your current problem, you would've made this complaint wether you got full membership or not...

I am wrong coming here and moaning. You might want to just disappear this whole thread it embarasses not just me.

But it does annoy me and bring me to a decision to leave. Whether I am worse than Hitman or Chinny's a better mapper or not, there was a timeframe which people were given to join the project if they wanted to. When people declined, I did the mapping, not so much through choice tbh. When Chinny re-appeared and objected to the demo and without telling the team, told EM we should cancel it, I asked the rest of the team if they want to release or not and people all said release.
This was also the verdict of the testers, which included some real non-RPG people like Tejas and EM community guy.

EM do not want a demo map, they want;

"Eidos Montréal has a new Community Manager, his name is Adam. I've been speaking with Adam, and he's excited to use the EM channels (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc) to promote this project as it comes close to full release."

So I've been working very hard on a full release version.

"Lock down the release schedule, and he'll work in tandem every step of the way from here to the finish line."

I don't believe EM want to promote a demo map, they want to do some PR as and when the final release version nears it's end.

Umm...

You are misunderstood there.

EM are not running this project, we are.

Team voted to release a preview not a demo as such. They voted to do this in 2012, in the year after SP, I have extended the date from August at your request. Then I extended the date to September at your request. Then I pushed it back to Dec 21st when Adam asked for a definite date.

Since then the date has not changed and we are on schedule. Someone else is finishing your models and the hotel you were going to make will stay the same. The spare nodes have gone to Chees and signage.

There is no definite date for RPG V1. At the moment there needs more forum activity from Chees maybe and also for you to try to understand we want to choose the levels, characters, before meandering in SDK, even before feedback from the preview. Also Poor and I are very busy with the preview release and getting the map ready, so we can not begin to look at the RPG design till after the release of the preview.

There's no harm in you doing something in SDK and showing vid and screenies on the moddb site. But this sudden mapping frenzy is pointless, you could have been polishing the demo map and improving weak parts like replacing the hotel or other areas.

EDIT: it is the same with your concerns about Poor's ability to make an RPG. You have actually been told, posts have actually been made which were very detailed and stated the features of the coding. It's a lot of time wasted that your enthusiasm for the project wavers but then accuse others of not stating a plan.

If what you are saying is correct, EM only want to show your map, then you have nothing to worry about do you.

I suggest you chill out and realize the team want to release a preview and show improvements to RPG and some preview of the Hengsha RPG, there are 3 options, 2 factions, and plenty of features that are new. Let's all be friendly, enjoy Xmas and try to work as a team on the preview in December, then worry about the RPG V1 in January.

Whether Lara Croft herself is coming or not, I don't really care, this preview is for the players and our Xmas present.
Testers liked it.

I've started a thread on deusexmultiplayer site regarding the 21st Dec map, we can voice our ideas and thoughts there. But I need this thread to be constructive and organised, it would be great if I could see you on msn at least a couple of times a week.

Nick is right, you shouldn't be affiliating your issues on Hengsha and co with [FGS] just because members are involved in it.
Chees IS actually working on the demo map and discussing it and is "onboard" and therefore is part of the team.
Last time I checked Chees was [FGS]. If you're on his side, you shouldn't be blaming the clan because it has nothing to do with us.
