This is a very good action movie. I mean action movie. Doesn't include much of the usual Terminator mysteries but there are some very nice effects and good actings from unknown actors. I expected worse, it's worth watching in cinema for the effects. Oh and Helena Bonham Carter is EVIL.

I guess this means that action movies generally suck. If you aren't going to watch a movie to: A. Laugh in the case of comedies, B. Cry/Be scared/Experience Emotional turmoil if you have a cock in the case of horror/chick flicks (Same thing), or C. Be moved to suspense or wonderment based on a fantastic storyline and evolving plot in the case of American Beauty then you are only going for what? To see an onscreen replication of filming of explosions?
At least if you go to a firework show, or burning man, you get to BE THERE when the explosions happen, and you usually get the freedom of smoking weed in both cases. But if you sit back and say, "Okay I know the plot is shitty and the acting is sup-par and there is next to NO character developement and I have to either pay to sit in a theater or waste my precious bandwith and time downloading it BUT BY GOD I WANNA WATCH A RECORDING OF A BUNCH OF FAKE EXPLOSIONS" you know what that makes you sound like?
A complete, American-made tool. :D

The acting is actually good in T4, so is the plot and the movie totally has a 10/10 entertainment value. Big explosions, awesome effects, it's worth paying 6-7 quids just to see it in cinema unless you have your own cinema at home. Actions movies like these are made to watch in highest possible quality unlike comedies, dramas, documentaries. You can watch these all at home because you don't miss anything by watching them on 5.1, 4:3 TV. I used to go to cinema much more but I decided that from now on I will only go if the film is action/fantasy etc with detailed effects, or certain friends of mine come too.
T4 is about entertainment just like any other action movies. Have you ever wondered why Steven Segal, Jean-Claude van Damme or Michael Dudikoff got famous even though they suck at acting? For the explosions and gun/fist fights the films they played in included. But T4 is nothing to compare with these guys because it's a great film. If the Dark Knight gets 10/10, then this gets 8/10. Which is good.

Steven Segal didnt suck, it was fukken hilarious how he'd be talking to somebody calmly, then he gets attacked by 5 japs, beats the *love* out of them, and then carries on his conversation like nothing happened lol!
Every building that guys in gets annihilated, not just the people.

On a totaly different note: I watched Pineapple Express yesterday. I rofl'ed hard, esp the line: 'couscous; because it tastes so nice, they named it twice!'
I also saw a brilliant Family guy episode, but that's not the point.

How can a terminator movie have a 12 certificate?
That alone suggests to me that this film will be nothing but a disappointment.

Because no sex and blood is involved. Trust me, it's worth watching.
Pineapple Express is awesome.

I don't know man, I guess my last ditch effort at explaining it is this: Would you play through an entire game where the gameplay is shitty the plot is rushed and the controls kinda suck JUST because the game has super-good graphics?
If you answer yes to any of the above questions, you = SUPER tool
I mean, going to a movie JUST to see the special effects and explosions is the male equivalent of a girl saying "Oooo shiny and pretty colors."

Ha ha good point I just have a chip on my shoulder from the plethora of shitty action movies.
EDIT: Shitty movies in general, all genres.
However I am not expecting "excellence" or perfection in everything I watch, but I won't settle for some shitty commercial flick. And although Dark Knight was considered action movie, when the movie IS that good and there are not only exceptional performances, but you also do get the great plot and character development, then it is much more. My point was if an action movie is good, then great, seeing it is justified. But if an action movie is crap and you just want to see special effects you are wasting your time and/or money.
I will go ahead and watch T4 just for you Chris. But my prediction is that is is just another conjured up sequel made for the soul purpose of making the creators a bunch of cash, which is ballsey of them to do it with this franchise because they are REALLY banking on T4 to chase Judgement Day's coattails without tripping over the dead T3 in its path after Rise of the Machines fell like a fat chick in a bull run.

There's nothing more to discuss, T4 is a great movie, I'm not going to try to convince anyone about it anymore as I did that enough already.
