Check my topic about the impersonator dude who spectates before dying, ban him when he's around and you'll be able to discover if he is able to come back or not... AdvBan him first, see if he returns, rather than use the possibility that a ban won't work as an excuse for not banning in the first place, because that's what it's looking like to me atm.

A) Install ANNA Gametype, which blocks basically all forms of exploits outside of the extremely advanced, which I really doubt they're using.

B) Install Adv Ban, while it's not a complete solution, it will keep them gone for a while.

C) Install Nephthys mod, to prevent more specifically server-side attacks, exploits and use advanced logging.

If you use those 2 and have AdvBan as backup I'd be surprised if they're still doing stuff. If they are then they either have admin or are using console hacks, which you'll just have to deal with until they get bored, or ban their range/AdvBan them.

It's a fact of life in DX, if you host forums or servers, you will gain new "friends".
If you run a clan that is recruiting and has a server, your "friends" will multiply.

Laws will change in future, these fektards will disappear one day soon.
Also modders and server admins will not wait around for that. Facetown is one example.
We may even have to take steps with Cozmopolis and Hengsha...

Since anyone can run a server, there will always be some crappy admins, crappy players.
Trolls and aliasers are unhappy mixed-up people who have issues with themselves or with others.
Aliasers think they are clever, but they are just *loving* hilarious, if they open their mouth and criticize.
This is the aliaser that amuses me the most, got skills, but gotta hide when complaining.

Like Poor said, all you need is nephthy's.. it ban's the person by computer name... that way no body else will get banned. everyone still wonder's how to get rid of this guy, Poor said it like 5 posts ago. lol.

Computer names aren't unique so it's not a good idea to ban by that. Range banning is the way to go, using xxx.xxx.xxx.0-xxx.xxx.xxx.255. The chances of it banning other people should be very low, especially with the regional variety in DXMP.

That and you can just change the computer name. The only thing I know that truely banned a computer was AdvBan 3 and 4, but both used pretty powerful mechanics that weren't in worth risking other people using (i.e. what Deja did with something similar).

Range bans work, but they can vary massively, mines literally like 70-90*, that's massive. It often sits on 80-86* but even then that's a large portion of the UK.

If they don't have a particularlly large range, or it's just worth banning them anyway (olol 24*) then yeah.

Olo is the most famous teamkiller. These are just some examples of his IP:

I starred out the end, so people don't know his full IP. As you can see, the problem is, the second numberclass, he has more than one type, 3 in this example. If we rangeban him, Majster, Mario and a few more Polish players get banned. Mario is Croatian though, so the hoster must be a popular one.

There's a decent number of Polish players in this game, all apart from olo are awesome guys.

this is why Olo can't be fully banned without banning Mario and maybe some others at the same time.

I rarely host my server, and he is already banned , now i got nepthys up and will give a computer name ban, anyways if its not the best way to ban someone - if it is, anyways , the person i ban wont know what way he is banned :'D

Sorry. I been busy with working and haven't had time to get on. But when I saw this topic and reading the sh!t out.. It needed my input
