[EDH] Server is gone because of the assailant. As of yesterday I realized I am the only one in [HK] actually participating in the efforts to get rid of who is responsible for server attacks in DX.

I suppose the abuse from the DX community is taking its toll, [HK] will not help you now. But I will still try and fix this.

You say I am arrogant. But when I was in my first year of DXMP, if I was told something, I listened, if I annoyed someone I apologized. If I was given advice, I did not then call the person arrogant and accuse him of attacking me.

In ten years time, you will look back and remember that actually, most ppl just flamed you and banned you and hated you. One day you will realize who your friends were and you will realize that all FGS ever did, was give you advice in trying to be happier in DX. I can't feel sorry for you, all you do this thread is insult us and make yourself look stupid and beyond help.

I just felt like posting that what with all the discussion on reputation. Still though HDD, I can't recall ever meeting you and yet you already annoy me. In the little time I've spent back in the community all I've seen from you are complaints and false threats of leaving. Never once have I seen you take responsibility of anything that has befallen you. It is quite clear that you are far from innocent when it comes to the cause of your current position and it would do you well to stop playing the victim. All I can see in this topic, and in many topics involving you, are more experienced players trying to give you advice, but every single time you have simply ignored them.

You've called others arrogant, but you seem to be the most arrogant person in this topic. You act as if your leaving DX is the worst thing that can happen to this game and that you are single-handedly keeping it alive, and the fact that you have made numerous leaving topics would seem to support this. You act like you're someone who feels they deserve respect, and yet all I see is someone craving attention. Almost all the players you have bashed have paid their dues to the community and have earned their place in the community, but from what I can see you haven't. Maybe if you didn't spend so much time complaining and trying to draw attention to yourself and actually tried to build a decent reputation you might not be in your current situation, but we'll never know now. You simply chose to believe you were hot metabolic end product in a champagne glass, but the rest of the community saw you as cold diarrhea in a Dixie cup.

It's a shame he won't realize the quality of your advice there.

I'll tell you what my "arrogance" was...
I told him:
1. He's pissed people off. Keep a low profile
2. Stop posting unfinished and not well thought-out beginner maps on [A]
3. Concentrate on one thing, not being jackass-of-all-trades. (At that time he was clan leading, mapping, running servers, coding, to mention a few) He saw this advice as being arrogant and ungrateful for his help in DX, but he failed to see how he was not actually impressing anyone.
4. Ignore Alex
He did totally the opposite, now he think's he's my victim.

The master server is not down.
I analyzed the communication traffic. It establishes a connection to the master server and even does the validation handshake.
However, the master server just doesn't contain servers.
I know this isn't good either but at least we know, gamespy did not take it down.

Also, this situation shows how "useful" the alternative master servers are.
The servers of my last server list refresh, where gamespy still worked well contain NO players at all. So, it doesn't matter how much alternative master servers are hosted, as long as the clients don't use them, HDD21.

They make me look bad...

HDD I'll finish building my new PC in a few weeks. Let me know when you are ready to play COD4, Crysis Warhead, STALKER: Clear Sky or Far Cry 2 etc. anytime so I can kick your ass just as hard as I do in DX

my suggestion, talk to GD and see if they can fix the problem with the servers that they host.

HK seem to think they know about attacks and who caused them.
