How are the rifles in this game? WW2 rifles tend to be a little clunky if you know what I mean.

When you're playing normal multiplayer mode, rifles tend to be rather weak, even sniper rifles and that's because you can't get a one shot kill unless you hit the head. Of course there's a rather large variety of rifles though, take G3 for example, it's a single firing rifle with a 20rounds mag, on hardcore mode it's one shot kill in most cases, just like m21 (not the sniper version). There's also M16A1 which has a burst fire mode that fires three bullets each shot. It's also deadly on hardcore mode when firing on the torso.

The main reason I play Hardcore Mode only is the reduced number of bullets needed to kill an opponent, it's also more realistic. There are 5 types of sniper rifles in this game, all of them making one shot kills on this mode, but not on normal mode unlike COD2 snipers.

The accuracy of rifles is important aswell. G3 is said to be imbalanced because it has a perfect accuracy and a quite long range not to mention the damage it deals per shot. (Mostly one shot kills on hardcore as I said)

Sniper rifles need toggling breath to get an accurate shot, but of course they offer the advantage of having a sniper scope.

There's a reflex scope aswell which can be attached to most weapons, including assault rifles. It provides longer range than firing from the hip but shorter range than a sniper scope. It also reduces the field of view and you're unable to toggle breath when shooting. It's not very useful on hardcore mode but I guess normal modes gain a better advantage of it.

The perks you install for your inventory have a serious importance. Iron lungs allow you to hold your breath for a longer period of time when sniping, UAV Jammer makes you invisible on GPS, Double tap increases your firerate etc. Making the optimal combination drastically increases your chances on the battlefield.

These bonus points are not added to your kills though. You can notice that the system counts kills and scores independantly.. So basically yes, those were kills only. The screenshots I posted were from Team Death Match games. You can have 100 points of score and 0 kills on Search and Destroy in the same time because of kill assists, bomb defusals etc. On Team Death Match the reason my scores are not in balance with the kills is that I have kill assists.
