[quote="[NK]~Valgothy~"][quote="~[A]lex~"][quote="[NK]~Valgothy~"]man how can one guy be so full of metabolic end product?
btw Alex, i stumbeled uponn something you might find very interesting. Remember our little discussion last week (the one where you had to correct me all the time due to spelling errors) well it seems you were over-eager, as you corrected me once, when i was actualy right
Yes yes dear readers, our all-mighty, all-knowing, ever-present Alex was wrong! Now you may ask to yourselfs what is this all about? could this be true? Was Alex indeed wrong were he thought in all his arrogance he was right?
YES!
He asked me what my friends called me, i said respectfull. Alex thought, in all his wisdom, that he should point out that it's respectful.
Now some of you may know i study the English Language at the University, and today I had an exam English Linguistics. And in the book i had to learn there was a list of suffixes used in English. And what did I spy with my weary eye? Indeed the suffix: -full - meaning being filled with X (X being in this case respect)...draw your own conclusion.
Just wanted to share this with all of you as this topic obviously degraded in a spambox.
Kind regards,
~[E]Pr

Still i think my prof has a bigger credibility then your 'friends'. May i inform you that Britain is the country in which the most ppl don't know how to write. I have statistics (as you're so keen on them) that show that very little young ppl in Britain can spell their own native language right.
Actually let me quote my book again:

Rhetorical Question: What was the point of creating this topic at all lol, when it links to a discussion that is now over...

native English
there's hardly such a thing these days...
The only "native English" left on Earth are some Welsh, Cornish and French people... and even they are contaminated with Irish, Scottish, Roman, Saxon, Viking, French and Dutch blood.
My mother often asks me when will I go out with an English girl.
I reply "There aren't any in London anymore"
I think probably less than 1% of the population, including teachers can spell properly, write properly, while not many read a quality newspaper etc... and even a quality newspaper can't spell or write properly sometimes these days...
innit blud, safe yeah

Also, ShadowRunner, What do you think 'respectful' or 'respectfull'?

Respectful is a word.
Respectfully, respect, respectful
Respectfull, I can find only one use... as a phrase or corporate branding.
respectfull.com - even there it is clearly a phrase, two words.
You will have to check with Echelon countries, Americans, Australians, Canadian, New Zealand etc and ask the same question. English does adopt American spellings in certain situations. If nothing shows up there and you guys were playing "scrabble", I would have to say Alex wins, as far as I can see.
The best English Teachers...
1. Born in UK
2. Went to English "middle class" School (yes we suck, class system)
3. Know English current affairs
4. Studied French, Latin, German AND Ancient Greek
5. Know something about the vast Royal Navy/Empire terminology of English etc, "shipshape" etc.
6. Can explain all 1000 + necessary idioms of the English Language
7. Can give the student a reason to be learning English, a purpose etc.
8. Can make reading a newspaper easy
9. Can model the English language in fun and useful and correct way
10. dunno - cos I wasnt a great English Teacher...
