I'm curious too, if it works really, can you upload it for the community?

As I know you can make S3TC textures too in UEd3

It's not making UED3 to work with DX, it's making stuff in UED3, as in the geometry/bsp. Ofcourse if you add the DX textures and use only the DX textures on UED3 you can easily copy-paste the BSP in UED1. If you use UED3 textures obviously it'll appear as a moon texture.

Sounds interesting.
So I wonder if you could make huge maps in no.3 then paste them in 1/2.

Somehow I doubt this works...
UED3 was made for a much newer engine version.. that one even supports static meshes!

Hmmm, I read somewhere UEd 3 came with a patch for Unreal Gold, and it doesnt support static meshes. Btw, I used UT2004's UEd to convert my UVW mapped models to brushes, and it kept the texture coordinates too

Don't worry there's an option to even convert static meshes to brushes, even on UT2004's

Ye, but that's not the point.
@Kalman: UED3 for unreal gold?.. sounds interesting..

Basically that's how I converted models to brushes, or brushes to models. Someone willing to use those awesome BSP tools there can easily do so, and copypaste.. just don't overdo as Unreal Engine 1 can't handle that much as we all know

Oh, I guess that makes sense. Can't think why you'd want to do that, though.

Complex geometry easily done, better tools.
