One's man whiskey is another man poison. I think probably you had the least mapping experience and probably have had the least help so far, I'm not sure. Hit me on msn if you need to learn something.

I got few advices from BBPL, but he hasn't seen my map yet, because I hope he will join 2MB Mapping Challenge. Only you have seen my map (or Face too) and I have added some improvements, sice I sent to you my map. I am close to finish my map, but I feel I must add something more. I must send to you my map again. :D

It's to be expected that your map would not be made perfectly, but I suspect it will be more playable and popular than you realize, you've put a lot of effort into the gameplay design.

The way I'm viewing this competition is that there will be no bad maps. Sure, there's going to be a winner but I'm not forgetting that everyone has a different level of skill. Some of the more innovative maps I've seen (not referring to any competition maps) have been made my mappers who are fairly new. I'm hoping that our comments can help people become better mappers and allow them to understand the tools available so that they can make the maps look and feel like they want.

Never make map without ideas and planning, or you will hate working on them

Exactly this. As a player I am not going to notice whether you used 30 brushes or 1 custom brush.

There are some superb projects in DX, but they are almost inconsequential to the community because of the time they are taking.
This is why my 2006/7 altfire maps can be rough in places, I had to keep a regular update of maps going. The original DXMP maps are not perfect, some huge clumsy and unbelievable errors, but you know what, they delivered on time, the stuff looked and it was playable. People are still playing them 11 years later. Sometimes you have to move on, to keep the learning process or progress ticking over. A lot of errors are only noticeable to mappers or someone looking in SDK.

What the player doesn't see or notice, doesn't exist.

i made no plans whatsoever and i'm loving my map
probably because I wasn't trying to base it on anything real! xD
as for the idea behind the map, well, I dunno. LOL - nuclear bunker, military weapon station, IKEA storage!
AKA Knifeworld on Discord etc. Frozen brains tell no tales!

Very true Kalman :) also take day breaks as well I find helpful for better ideas to click in my brain and to fix problems in half the time.
