STARGATE SERVER RULES

Posted: 10 Jun 2008, 20:03
by ShadowRunner
Admins will concentrating on preserving the RPG and Objective-based gaming on the server.

This means that they will take it VERY seriously if:

1. You shoot your teams grenades
2. You use neutron (blue lam) in a small area or near vents without checking the location of team. Teamkilling with neutron will get you banned. You will receive 1 chance during a game. Teamkilling twice with neutron will get you kicked, even if it was an accident. Teamkilling twice in one day will get you banned. If you have a clean record the ban is likely to be 24-72 hrs, if not then at least a week. Please appeal your ban if u wish
3. You change/Switch to another team during the game. The server will run the excellent Mini-Machina Teamswitcher mod. Admins will decide the balance of teams. If an admin is not present, then please preserve the balance of the teams. If you feel a player has a habit of switching teams at the end of the game, please report him to [FGS]members.

Admins will be tough on these issues.

Also
Usual rules...

Respect all players, clans, etc.
No cheating, hacking, bugging, criminal activity, abuse, disrespect, evil.
The server is not a chatroom, although RPG taunting and banter is allowable, if in appropiate taste, not spammed or malicious.
Forums issues will be discussed in forums. Obviously networking is allowable, but arguments and feuds, especially of a personal kind will be dealt with harshly and swiftly.

Respect that this is a combat RPG server with a TEAM objective.

My decision to kick or ban you will be based on your co-operation with this aspect of the server. Arguments about other servers, clans, bitching, personal disputes or disputes that do not concern the server, disruption of the infolink being used for RPG and teamwork, will not be tolerated.

Admins, don't forget to warn... we'll run teamswitcher and showmessage.

These rules and this post will most likely be edited at a later date. Just here is something temporary as the server will appear most likely in a few hours

Only veterans of Stargate will admin.

You need to be capable of equalling the top scorers on the server, to really do the job well.
This is something that Dae taught me.

I just would like to add...

The DXSG team will be testing new maps and new mods on this server.

We aim to cause minimum disruption, but some work will be unfinished sometimes, open beta testing, or there may be private sessions over the next few weeks, so we appreciate and thank you for your patience.

I said top scorers Alex, Dae pwnt u and me on DXAG and DXSG.

And I had the edge on you in DXAG I feel... I will of course tolerate an argument about that :D

You think you're better than me? Hahaha. And mate, if you say "topscorers", then you can't say "Dae is better than you", because then you can keep going on and on, until there is only 1 topscorer :)

When I was admin on DXAG...

Looking through all my screenshots: Here is league table imo

Dae
Random
Masta
Shadowrunner
Alex
Sheek
B2S

this is not accurate though, cos I think Masta had hard enemies and Random didnt at all...

Maybe I forget about some player or never saw some player

For some reason I was unstoppable as soldier on DXAG. I am much better at DXAG than DXSG, even though I have much better scores in DXSG.
Dae wrote:You are the only person not in [A] who can give me a challenging game
He later said that to B2S or Sheek
I'm sure you would beat me in a straight fight though in any other game, but I would say I can equal you or beat you in Altfire and DXAG, but not augs or 0-aug

A good admin needs to take a back seat, play and show no favour to any one player in particular.

It is not just a case of being the biggest and baddest in the playground, therefore gaining some respect when asking players to switch or change something etc... It's not just the fact that it shows that the admin has experience.

It's also because sometimes you need to be the last man standing in a fight.

The best advice Dae ever gave me about hosting was to lose games. Lose them, but only very slightly, make it as close as a game as possible. I became quite good at this art of losing only very slightly on Deja's aug servers and on Platoons. People would say "GG" and you knew they really meant it.

If a guy runs a server and kills everyone on that server, he will either get accused or ppl wont return. That's what I like about TKG clan, they don't cheat on their server and they let me pwn them and dont run or whine, and still say "gg" etc. Very polite and nice people in my experience.
