I have seen topics in the past about this word. There are some players who feel it is a derogatory word. I use it without a value judgement, to describe various situations or people, in other words we all make mistakes and sometimes you have to admit you have been a noob, got noobed, or did something noobish or nooby. A vet can play like a noob, but he is not a noob, because he is a vet, or is he a noob still?

So I wonder people's feelings.

And can someone define newb, nub, noob, nublet.

The best I heard was noobination, a word used to describe increasing bs on a server...

I tend to use newb to describe new players. While n00b or any other similar spelling refers to a player who is using cheap tactics or whatever to get a better score. As for nub I tend to find that more playful in nature, and is generally used when someone just does or says something stupid on nature.

I mainly use noob as an insult to dickhead cheapos. People who lam spawn exits, teleporters, etc. Tho I could see myself using it in a kind way.

nub = funny
nublet = really funny
newb = I don't use it but it means to me beginner
noob/n00b = really annoying illegitimate child doing things like spawn camping
