The presentation about EVE Online from CCP @ GDC Europe 2009 was impressive. They also announced DUST 514 at the GDC Europe which will directly interact with EVE Online.

Played, is it, Homeworld2? Old game, big spaceships in space.

Do any of these games feature trading, piracy, making money, adventuring. In Homeworld it was telling me where to go etc. I want to be Han Solo and smuggle metabolic end product...

Someone badly needs to make a Asimov/Herbert type sci-fi where it mixes Eve with first-person shooter RPG as well. Like Wing Commander with fps combat scenes also, but free-roaming and can pick scout, merchant, freelance classes as well....

I want to be able to walk into a spaceport bar, kill a player, steal his ship etc, fight it out in orbit, get to hyperspace etc...

I'm going away next week, so now isn't a good time for a 2 week trial, but in principle, looks great.

The Eve universe is being merged with an upcoming FPS game called Dust 514 [PS3 only]:

Dust 514 is planetary based, I dont know much but we'll need you and youll need us in our interweb spaceships..

Eve right now has had captains quarters where you can walk around your personal "room" in any station and we are having that made better in the near future with ability of walking around station. You will be able to purchase a "shop" in stations and sell wares or maybe a casino type establishment is all coming...

As will killing in stations etc etc.

Eve has fully functioning markets so trading, piracy, making money, adventuring all happen 24/7

As a good bit of info heres a small story

You can buy 60 day time cards [with real money] and convert in 2x30 day game time extensions called PLEX which can also be sold on the market for isk [in game money] some guy last week got killed with 74 in his cargo which is $1295 worth [USD]

So the piracy and hurt happens in real life too....
