Thinking of Star Wars themed mod

So I was in whiplash with DJ tonight and he said something about how he is considered the Jedi because of his use of DTS. It hit me like a sack of potatoes: Star Wars themed mod. I can still implement most of my changes but add in some of the fun of SW. I mean we all know the Dragon's Tooth SCREAMS lightsaber. Just wanted to run a few ideas by you guys. I want to modify the augs into Force powers. Each player will consist of either Sith or Jedi, with a few neutral abilities to each and special abilities depending on the side.

Yes, all of these are actual force abilities as laid out by wookipedia.

Both:
Battlemind - Increase in weapon damage (Targeting)
Force Speed - (Speed Enhancement)
Force Blinding - Flash that blinds as if a rocket went off near someone using vision enhancement. Will have a timer of usage similar to setting off Spy Drone and rebuilding it.

Dark Side (Sith):
Force Cloak - (Cloak), will still not be able to use a weapon.
Deadly Sight - Really cool, will inflict small amounts of damage per second to the target. Won't be huge but good enough to use.
Force Lightning - I want to find a way to make this a weapon of sorts, maybe use a hand mesh that equips and each click uses a certain amount of energy. Damage will be substantial but not fatal in one blow.
Force Healing - I know some may think "Why healing on the dark side?" Well it only heals the user, and the Light Side will have a similar power but it heals teammates not just you. Selfish force use and all.

Light Side (Jedi):
Revitalize - Heals you at a slow rate compared to Force Healing but also heals targeted ally significantly. Teamwork is where it's at.
Protection Bubble - Force bubble around you that makes you virtually indestructible, but no weapon. Use it to get away to safety.
Force Sight - Vision Enhancement, but less blue-tint and NO BLINDING EFFECT.
Force Destruction - The foil to Sith's awesome killing power, drains 25 energy per second til you are drained but creates a cone-shaped beam of light that causes sever damage. Kills in two second hit, just like pistol head shots.

As far as weapons they will be limited. A few guns and blasters used in the flicks, and of course the almighty lightsabre, which will be default weapon. All others must be found. (Yes, you snipers will still have a similar gun.) I may just want to snag a few of the tnag weapons with y'alls permission of course.

If you guys think it will work I will get my coder and I on it this week.

1. What about choke? Awesome power that.
2. What about simply modifying the dts's colour? Saves on the trouble of making a new mesh, building the model, and keeps it firmly rooted in dx as well as sw. You'd probably be well advised to source the sfx though.
3. [FGS] don't own, and never have owned the rights to TNAG. You'll have to talk to Hej.....whatever the f.uck way you're supposed to spell it. I don't have a link, so if someone else would be kind enough to provide a contact? :)

I'd say, 1 mod at a time...

You got us all crazy about the other thing, but now it seems like your ditching that for this project, that in all fairness looks cool, but not as much as the other project your working on.

Persistence is key I'd say.

If you're going to make this mod work, I'll create SW maps for you. I'd start with the holding room where Count Dooku is killed by Skywalker in the second episode.
I'd reconsider those force powers, ever played Jedi Academy? If not, I suggest you download and play some with it. You'll see what I'm talking about.

Word on all that guys. I can't think of a good enough way to utilize force choke. Since the force powers would replace augs and a few of them are acting as weapons, I wouldn't want to load up on offensive/attacking abilities to make weapons useless, I would after all like to keep the primary weapon the lightsaber.

I get your point proph, I am just more excited about a star wars theme party because it takes much of the creativity responsibility off my shoulders, which I understand is part of the fun, but nonetheless I always though SW themed maps would be cool as metabolic end product.

Especially after seeing the Millennium Falcon on Orbital, I creamed when I first saw that. False floorboards and everything. who made that by the way?

It was ShadowRunner.
An important point of jedi games has always been the lightsaber that made you able not only to attack people in several ways but to defend yourself against other lightsabers AND weapons. A recoloured DTS won't be enough.

Why double post? Also, low-tech combat in DX doesn't allow for colliding blades, so you wouldn't have proper sword/lightsaber fights. Also, you can't track a bullet in flight cos you can't see it (unless its a tracer round), all ranged attacks deflected by a jedi are highly visible blaster bolts. So a re-coloured DTS would be enough.[/geek]

The sword itself doesn't have to do anything. Pressing altfire button should simply create an invisible shield which protects the player against a certain amount of damage.

Altfire could be an additional b.p. then.
