Enhanced OpenGL renderer with UT99?

Well I just tried this out by copying the OGL files from my DX folder over to the UT folder and by editing the UnrealTournament.ini to use them, but all I got was sound with no visuals.
Was running in compat mode for 2000. Did I miss something? Or is this simply not possible? I ask since the D3D renderer has the usual problems........

I use the D3D9 renderer. It's pretty awesome.

if it works with dx, it should work with ut99 too
