In Minecraft you control a character who runs round a world made of 3 foot cubed blocks. Sharing this world with you are are other people with their own characters. You have the power to create more of these blocks, and also the power to destroy any blocks already in the environment. By doing this the idea is that you make huge, complicated constructions and indeed I have seen some incredibly elaborate pieces of work. Its actually quite surprising just how much expression you can exhibit using just the crude tools you are given. Obviously the creations are quite blocky, but in a world where everything is blocky its easy to look past that. You end up with a world where everyone is making clever constructions, and appreciating other peoples constructions, and sometimes even working together on a larger piece.
So anyway, /me made a small private Minecraft server. Minecraft is basically a single- and multiplayer sandbox, allowing you to construct anything you want from different blocks. You can cooperate with your friends and other people on the server, it's loads of fun if you're a creative type of person. Here's the link to the website, where you can register:
http://www.minecraft.net/register.jsp
Then, download the custom client wrapper, that allows you to fly/noclip around. It's legal, and makes building stuff way faster. It's in the attachment.
Run the client, log in, and then in the "URL" field at the bottom of the window paste the following:
NEW URL
STATUS: OFFLINE!!!
Code: Select all
http://www.minecraft.net/play.jsp?server=6090beb22babeaee8635d325dd94ef95
[/b][/size]
It changes every time I restart the server. I will try to update it often, but if it doesn't work, contact me on xfire.
Also, if it says "generating" and "eroding" while loading, you're not logged in and doing something wrong.

oh, if you run the client and it says "can't find minecraft.jar", then:
1. download
http://minecraft.net/client/minecraft.jar
2. put it in the /lib/ folder
