Voyager spaceships still working

I think it's amazing. Voyager 1 and 2 were launched in 1977 and they still transmit radio messages to Earth. They've both left our solar system, Voyager 2 for instance has already traveled double Sun-Pluto distance. These unmanned spacecrafts have provided a lot of information and pictures about planets in our solar system and I think they're the most successful manmade spaceprobes ever to leave our planet. The best thing about it is that they're expected to function for at least 15 more years.

did you read that article about our universe sitting inside of black hole, yet? According to that theory (backed with some calculations) in every massive black hole sits one universe. Think what you may, but thats one of the more interesting things Ive heard in a while.
Didnt know the voyager floating rustpiles still operated, maybe I did and forgot. It wont make it to closest start system in 15 years tho

ye i've read about that blackhole thing and i don't know what to think about it.. the entire (our) unverse is so huge that it's already too much to realise

the thought that there might be more universes is.. stunning.

I don't think that's Pandorum, I believe non of the actors in that movie had roles in ER.

I like the thought of mankind traveling around the universe anyway and the ending was well done.

I do like the idea of space travel as a whole, but the many complications involved make it a pipe dream, certainly for the next few hundred years anyway. Assuming you can even achieve FTL travel, a simple fleck of dust will end your journey very quickly. And spectacularly. And fatally. A fact that franchises like Stargate etc seem to overlook (though with good reason I suppose, wouldn't be good killing the heroes the first time they make an FTL jump lol).
I have heard a couple of sci-fi theories that sound good though:
Bending space around you to make point A and point B meet up, meaning you cross a much smaller distance. (Event Horizon)
or:
Creating mass-less corridors of space to travel through whilst flinging yourself through them at exceptional velocities. (Mass Effect)

youre going to grow a beard by 2012?
Skilgannon, didnt the SG use one of those two options? Id say the first one, as it would make a lot more sense, but I do recall some travel, maybe its in my head tho.
