DXMPHR

I wrote to Eidos and I'm in contact with three people there currently as well as Rene their ex-Community Manager.
I actually stopped writing to them and made no contact with them for a while and surprisingly, they contacted me.
So I know that this is serious and genuine.
A project which I proposed is being developed which will benefit DX: HR players and DXMP players.
It is not an "all or nothing" project like some failed projects we have seen in the past.

Community managers are currently fighting on our behalf for the issue of exclusivity with the assets from Eidos in this project.

I read an e-mail from Eidos one hour ago which offers me the support I have requested for the project proposed.
Eidos wrote:full support
Feel free to rejoice at your leisure.

Therefore the project is now underway and will soon have a web presence. Next year there will be servers.
I hope that people such as Chinny, Jima, Cozmo, DJ, Noodz, Sasquatch and Magus can join me in this exciting project.
I appreciate our time in real life is very limited, but we are talking about having full support from Eidos, a giant PR machine and yours truly milking it for everything I can get for you guys, if that means more money I will present a good argument. for the mappers it is very little work perhaps, for the coders there's no set amount of time, it is a case of how much time you guys can give and what support Eidos can give, will determine the success in that area. For now though it's about ironing out a relationship that will work with Eidos and proving to them why this group should have exclusive assets. Bear in mind also, Deus Ex is set for another ten years, working on this is not going to hurt anyone's careers either with all that PR shazmatazz.

I've been away, don't know everyone, If I didn't mention your name and you are serious about getting involved in a "high-level" DXMP project please let me know.

As long as it's not another project involving KY. :alright:

Sure I'm always interested in joint projects.

Yes I'm really sorry about the KY, just slipped out of my hand sort of...

Basically we are going to convert the DX3 locations into multiplayer maps and Eidos is going to promote it and support us.
The details of the "support" are being ironed out, but I have asked for assets, expenses for servers, and their giant PR machine. So right now they are discussing WHEN they can give us DX3 textures, map floorplans etc.

Since although it was my proposal, they are the ones chasing it up, I am not too worried about about those issues. They are keen.

So for example we will make DXMP_HR_HiveBar, DXMP_HR_Penthouse, DXMP_DocksideDemolition etc... There's practically enough seen of the Hive Bar already to make a multiplayer map already. There are five-sided objects in that map I noticed.

Mapping is the low-maintenance aspect, it's weapons and the augs that will take time and probably need more support.

Thanks guys for the interest in this. Since not everyone will be FGS where do we want to be based? DJ and I can open a forums.

Like THC clan...

it's everyone's project not my project but somehow by fema executive order I will chair the voting on who makes which map.
Thereafter I dont care really. As long it looks like Shanghai, Detroit, Montreal, Egypt and where was it?

There is one thing that confuses me, though. Where did anyone in THC mention a joint project? We have no dedicated mappers, coders or modelers and all I said there is that I can throw some ideas in, should they be needed.
I find it disturbing that you post in several threads about some kind of joint project.

Masta was joking about my impersonation of Arnie as Gunther... "I vanted Orange County..."
So then I started joking about THC and Joints (reefers, zoots, spliffs), Joint project...
It's a lame-ish joke, that is all.
I didnt realize you are a THC member also.

Oh, someone on THC said same thing, confusing, apologies.

Alpha seems more active than I thought and it was well worth posting this there. Good advice, feedback etc. Nice people :)

It seems I have misunderstood a joke. My bad as well :)

In spite of DJ trying to urine Blade off on our forums now and then I see no real issues between our clans, so it would be nice for it to stay that way. THC is a bunch of friendly, reasonable people, as the name would sorta indicate, regardless of your possible preconceptions. Incidents such as the clotting of DXMP_Smuggles arise from there difference in our agenda or priorities in the game. Servers before us have equally had to tackle this problem (excluding any possible beginner servers I've no knowledge of).
You should have, however, made it clear that the new dxmp thing you advertise is based on the decade old game code/engine. It is unlikely that you'd find much help from other communities for a task most would consider pointless. Best of luck, though.

As for Alpha, they are a bunch of talented, great guys.. but barely or not at all connected with the dxmp community these days and definitely a group that knows a thing or two about unfinished projects or huge plans that never gain fruit.
