ZERO AUG SERVER CONFIGURATION
I have deleted Cathedral, seemed to be a mismatch version.
I have added the following maps. Its going to take about 3 days for the shock to settle with some people, but the feedback so far was more maps than just smuggler repeating. So I have added these and also played with the mapcycle, currently on random setting, I will go back to original 2nd setting (rotation) which I think is working now until later today, then I'll add mapvote and some admin/mod mutators and useful stuff too. I'm going to leave the Fear/Jima setting with lams, as plenty of these maps do not have lams or are sniper maps.
I think it would be nice to have that Double D map, the blue one, which is a sniper map. Anyone remember the name?
It would be good to put that back on altfire.

Thanks to you Rollo and anybody else involved in helping to get the server back up, i'm so relieved.
a small maplist is always better for zero augs I've found, im up for trying out any maps and then shortening the maplist based on popularity

Tunnel Network was commented on at the end by lots of players, they liked it.
Ok well I just didnt have spirit in my folder for some reason.
That Giant Iceworld by Garman, thats a good map too.
And Chinny's stuff...
We've spent about 2 days just fixing this darn map cycle.
Some maps are not loading, so need to be removed.

Fear and I have been talking about this.
We are not going to make a server with ONLY maps like Iceworld, Sniperbox and Pacman. There are going to be some Deus Ex maps. You will see vents, shadows, the occasional turret, keypads, locked items and all the things the new players and beginners expect to see. Basically Smuggler sets the standard and shows you how a Deus Ex map can work well in multiplayer. All the elements are in that map, yet it can be fast and furious.
For example I recommended RTKM_Challenge, Spirit and Sanctuary.
We will put up a maplist and then over the next few weeks, listen to feedback. We are also testing a few maps like Proteus in a zero aug environment. Also we may just completely forget about a map and need reminding, or not even know about it. (Magus, what else do you have)
Ship is there for the moment, but since the music causes gpf for some people, there is an argument for keeping it and removing it. Perhaps CargoStation_Alpha would be a good alternative.

I've always said im down for any map, i like the entire idea of making the zero aug server a variety for everybody to enjoy, and as for ship you know i like it aswell 
When ordering the maps i'm trying keep all interested in playing/staying by keeping it mixed, but smoothly mixed if you get me

Ive no idea what those maps are. I've probably played them, and they probably sucked. I described why Iceworld is played in greater detail on Alpha forums just now. I hate camping maps. I hate maps where I spend 5 minutes looking for an enemy. WHY would I do that? This simply leads to the spawn areas being camped as the player wants something to do besides sneaking around in an empty map. Iceworld, Dust, Smuggler, Silo, A51, Spirit.. even Warehouse, maybe, make for excellent medium server maps. That new map with toxic barrels and sewer tunnels is the latest functional DXMP map ive seen, too. CMD, Cath are only good for large server.
What mappers generally do is that while they (generally) understand they need to a)make the map work in multiplayer b)make it somewhat interesting geometrically c)perhaps make it look more or less decent visually, more often than not they entirely disregard the point A, the most important of them all.
Even Zan Goh is friggin good map that both noobs and skilled 0augers can enjoy. I would strongly advise against using Smuggles in 0aug server, though. The main spawns are far too vulnerable.
Maps like Ship bring the required skill down to the very beginner basics; get a LAM, plant it on the wall.. and wait. Get a sniper rifle, move behind some corner and using some shadow or object, peer down the scope.. and wait. Turn down mouse sensitivity and up the brightness while at it, and go fetch another lockpick for another LAM, or loot the bodies of your team mates that for some strange reason dont want to wait.

OK well prolly Fear is outnumbered there by Jima and Whip and Ship will get removed.
As for medium maps, that is all I meant. Iceworld is ok, but when you start piling on too many maps like, with no proper spawns, nothing that u see in a Deus Ex map, server starts looking nooby and my point is that new players wont be impressed. They wont know the issues you just mentioned.

I made that a long time ago, and I have many more maps like that, but people are set in their ways and I rarely get an opportunity to show the community these maps. I cant run 10 servers for all the different maptypes I have. Iceworld is like the basic structure onto what a proper map should be built upon, in my opinion. When there is no proper map, people can play on the skeleton just as easily. But if you have a big clunky map with a skeleton that makes no sense or is uncomfortable (takes ages to get around, or very linear movement) itll tear the game quality down. That sewer map not only seems functional, it is also quite nice to look at and entirely makes sense. I HATE certain spawns there, the ones with lots of blocks and spawns high up, but the remaining is really fun even if quite basic. It is a map with a circular movement pattern instead of being 8 shaped like Iceworld, right? This means that, curiously enough, iceworld is actually a more complex map than your sewers
I think its funny.
I dont really get the WW2 feel from that map, but rather a Deus Ex feel. The atmosphere is nice as well.

I'm not too sure about this, but I reckon DXMS_Foregone wouldn't be too bad - it's a smaller map than Spirit where fighting is mainly contained in narrow tunnels. Maybe we can have some kind of map testing events sometimes? Maps make most sense when played with lot of people, maybe of different skill levels. If you have 10 beginners standing somewhere, you wont know anything about how playable the thing is.
