The [FGS] Clan

Check logs Altfire server 14.20 approx. Today. Map was DXSG_Abydos.

A certain FGS member was playing on bowens, he used tele to leave map and stand on dark wall of CMD, killing players.
I told him that's why I am leaving. I changed my name to new alias and went to Altfire server

I was alone on altfire server. When this FGS member arrived I warned him that I had planted in Comm.
I then noticed that he had actually joined my team.
He ordered me to change team without even saying please.
As I was on the other planet, checking my map, I didn't want to.
He then threatened to ban me, kept repeating the order without manners or explanation.

The way I see it, he came second to the server, it was his duty to balance teams, not mine. I had good reasons for not wishing to change team. There was no chance to discuss or for him to explain, he just threatened me.

Guys, I've left FGS for these reasons, DJ's insults to people, the bullshite coming from ppl defending this crap and the way some of you PLAY these days is very nooby, spawnkilling and wallcamping, plus you have a big admin problem.

Oh, I hear Shadowrunner is a bitch again, but funny, all the stuff we argued, about why training and learning from older members is important, well F*** you.

Don't *loving* threaten me again.

I really wish you didn't go here, why can't you just report the name of the person who did this? Or if you don't know, just report it happened so Noodles can look into it?
I don't know about what you just said, the admin abusing, and I doubt most other people did, you're acting like we endorse it?

And you know what DJ is like, and to be honest with what Sanguine said later on in the topic I can't say he's wrong for saying "HE'S STUPID"

Firstly, read the logs.

Secondly, I'm not naming him publicly. It's fixable.

Thirdly, it was an unpleasant experience and I'm within my rights to bring it up.

I didn't accuse you of endorsing anything, except DJ's behaviour, and I wasn't referring to you personally.

You are within your rights to bring it up, I don't want to imply otherwise, I was just trying to say that maybe there's another way. I just don't understand why you get so worked up about this as if we promote this type of behaviour from our players. I personally can't look into logs, and I'm sure Noodles will and we will be able to take action against it.

The DJ thing, well, I already said my piece on that so that's that. I'm really sorry you feel the way you do right now, but like you said, "seperate the discussions". I have a feeling you're letting both you're annoyance about DJ and this admin abuse thing wind you up too much. (as in you're taking both cases and wind them into a ball of ARGHHH)

I just know by making a topic, it forces the whole clan to be aware and to discuss, rather than it shoved under the carpet as usual.

Put yourself in my shoes, I got quite a bit of abuse, including "ok then leave FGS if you must", for trying to maintain some basic principles. The arguments that were being defended were pretty much false. I don't care about winning arguments, but I do have a love for the clan. I hate to see it behave like this.

If you notice, I'm very capable of being turned in an argument and apologizing. If you look, you'll see I have asked for Pacman.

The admin was FAR too quick to threaten me. He never asked or said "please" or anything, simply an order, with a few seconds later... a threat.

The speed of it was shocking.

Learn from chinny, do u see him doing that on his server?

I see it WAY too often, FGS are ordering people around on the server when the solution would be to do it themselves.

I'll wait for a response from Noodles or who ever can see the logs and if a topic is not made in private, then I will do it. I also think admins should set an example and this is a really bad thing. But I hope you realize it's not fair to be (seemingly, by the ending lines of your opening post) condemning us all for what happened there. And I do know that's not your intention.

If you're going to demote me, marginalize me, then your system should be better at least.

Also, I don't agree. It's not "really bad". It's just a big red flag that's all. And if you want to hold it against the flagbearer so be it.

It also personally annoyed me, that I invited the guy to the clan and this is my repayment for that faith in him.

It wasn't easy to leave FGS, I thought to be honest people would realize if it meant that much, that it was worth discussing rather than insisting on a rebellion and sticking by things that have turned out to be useless in some respect. I admit I am not a good leader/manager, I couldn't give a metabolic end product, I know I took the fun out of things for some people, that's ok, but when it crosses over into disrespect and crap, then I feel I did the right thing to leave.

I find admin abuse a really bad thing.

I'm not sure why a report on admin abuse should turn into a throwback discussion on what has happened a while ago. I guess you don't really want to discuss it as much as just making a statement, but I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve

That's why I've always held you high esteem.

While I'm at it, telling people, there is a point to consider also. By adding amtrack and prodigy, if you dont add anything else, people will get sick of them pretty quick. Poor and Pop both requested Pacman, also I don't see Chinny's maps, maybe it's worth adding a few more maps? And as I've already said, I couldn't care less if FlyThePlanes gets removed.

I am sorry if I lumped every member into the argument, that was unfair, I agree.

Kalman , it's your choice to hide on the wall. It's my choice to leave and go to altfire. Neither is bad.

Similar happened to me at 0augs server dome days ago. One of fgs members (guess who) logged as admin (or moderator, i don't remember exactly) and started killing ppl from the console, repeating 'lol'. It's a pity that such people have admin rights.

It's not about you specifically Kalman, it's just annoying as an ex-leader to see things happening that never did when Majestic and I were leaders. The current leadership feels it was right over 2010 arguments, now it has to prove that.

Admins should realize they are workers/servers, Players equally should realize they are guests.

My issue specifically Kalman was that it was like 3 seconds between my "no" and your threat to ban me.
There was no discussion/negotation, it was dictatorship to please your interests, not the player that arrived before you.
Sometimes I wait 3 whole games to ban someone. It's a decision that should not come lightly.
Also you made mistake of mentioning ban.
Ask someone nicely first of all.
If they don't co-operate, and you are 100% sure that you are right (which is like 1% of time), then ok ban.

I haven't seen it for a while, but sometimes there is mapvote abuse too. If a map has even ONE vote and wins, that means you are pissing on at least one player, if you servertravel. Same goes for extending time, a whole evening. Remove mapvote if you are going to abuse it, then replace it when you are done.
