I tried to make the lighting be as moody as possible, how do you like it? :wink:

Knife summon code is CStrike.CSWeaponCombatKnife
Rifle summon code is CStrike.CSWeaponRifle ( i hid one of these on the map:3 )

The robot cage doors wont open,i'll fix that later, something with the number of keyframes i think :-k

I like the lighting very much, the colours are cool, I'm glad you made it nightime. I notice the slim walkway part is missing though. :-"

EHHEM, it is still in beta phase, same for the gametype :-"
By the way, do you know why wont the initialinventory work? function GivePlayerInitialinventory(); etc., copied from the deusexplayer.uc, modified to give a knife instead of a pistol, but it still doesnt seem to work. Any ideas? 8-[

The lighting is really good, better than most established mappers. It's dark enough for the Unreal lighting system to be "carving" properly and blending, the mix of colour to add three dimensions is great, the overall atmosphere is fantastic.

I would be careful assuming people are "lazy", a lot of effort goes on behind the scenes to keep forums and servers free from attacks, bugs and errors and also people have real life issues. If you were hoping for their vote in your FGS application, you might want to reconsider that statement. I would hardly vote for someone who is making personal remarks about specific co-members, whether he is right or wrong, during an application vote is probably not the best time. You applied as a modder, so if you're not going to be on server, what you say in forums/msn is even more important to us, in establishing if you are FGS material at this time or not, because it's the only way we see you operate.

I like the way some things seem new and fresh in this map. The mover textures are unusual. My only concern is that you are risking deletion/mismatch, because the chances are, someone else in the next ten years is going to think of calling their map DXMP_KnifeArena. In fact it is probably the FIRST name that will come in to their head. I would change the name to safeguard your map in future.

Secondly, I'm not stating that they are lazy in the way (i think) you understood that, i just couldn't find the matching word for what i tought, as i'm not that good in english. I'm not stating any bad things about them, i just didnt see DJ reply to any of my posts these days, nor Nobody. I know they got stuff to do behind the public board, and with the website and servers too, and i totally can understand that, as i manage a WoW server and i know its hard to keep things like this up. Thou i'd appreciate if they would at least reply to the post :?

Thirdly, Okay i'll rename it to something else then, i just need to find the perfect name. Any suggestions for that? :-k

Version 2 of 'KnifeArena'

Shadow told me to rename it to safeguard the map, until i get any better suggestions, i'll just call it on its original name
So: DXCS_35hp_2, as it is based off that :)

Fixes:
-Now the gametype gives a knife to players on respawning/joining. (KnifeArena.KA)
-Added the slim walkway between the two ends. Be happy Chinny. :-D
-The robot cage doors now open as they should.
-Modified the water a little bit, now its slightly more visible.

THAT'S WHERE YOU'RE WRONG.

and it's because I think that function is for SinglePlayer, you know.. when you launch SP you get a Pistol, so yeah.. I'm not sure but if I remember correctly, it's only for SP. You should look into something else, like mutators etc and see how they do it.

I solved it already, the problm was a ! At the beginning of the "if ((Level.Game.IsA('DeusExMPGame')) line, i took that out and now it works^^
Kalman and Brenden helped me, but thanks tho:)

A private message tends to work better than forum posts because it comes with a pop up window when you log in. I personally tend to miss entries during my visits here so I'd definitely recommend using those over hoping people might see your stuff.

You are right, I don't take a look at all posts. However, that's not particularly because it's you but because I'm having a hella lot work with my Masterthesis. That causes me just to visit the forum once or two times a week. Even then I'm not having time to read all new posts in detail, sorry. :oops:
According to your problem.
By removing the "!" in the if line, you got it possibly working, but then it won't work in SP anymore, since the "!" inverts the meaning of the statement.
If you want to have it working in all cases, you needed to remove the if statement completely (but don't remove the content within the if-block lol).
