Atrey's server is currently testing helicopters, this is just Prototype number 1, but take a look and have some fun.



Atrey is going to attempt to add features to each chopper

Green Chopper - Miniguns and Rockets. Second player can join as gunner.
Black Chopper - Quieter, less weps, but maybe emp defence or ads defence.
BEE from DX3 - Maybe faster, but less heavily armed than green chopper, maybe can drop emp grenades.

I suggested to atrey that when the X key or descent key is pressed that the chopper's speed is reduced, so landings are more realistic. Otherwise I really like the HUD and the weps are a lot of fun. I liked the pilot's viewpoint, suitable for ground/air operations. Post any thoughts, feedback here please, I should have some screenies up in the next few hours/day or two.

Yeah i tested out before, really cool project, along with his car and speed boat ones.

I get 2 fps when being shot at my the choppers

Obviously the weps are set wrong, the map wasn't optimized, it was a single player map and there were like 6 helicopters flying in that one zone, it was just a test. On a map like Abydos or FlyThePlanes, with plenty of zones that wouldn't be an issue. Obviously minigun will be less of an issue than salvos of 8 rockets at a time.

Checked this out the other day, nice one Atrey, it was the best vehicle piloting I've seen in DXMP.
