Last week and once again this Monday, thousands of students and teachers have gone on strike in the Netherlands. Several hundreds of students went on strike this morning in my home town. The Dutch minister of education has plans to raise the annual schooltime to 1040 hours. A final projected strike will be held on either Wednesday or Friday.

Kill those fools. We had same things in Poland.
some time ago, Mr. Giertych, the leader of the most conservative political faction in Poland, has became a minister of education in Poland.
He gave us some new 'things to do', like: no cellphones, no MP3/MP4 players, less sexual education, UNIFORMS [omg]. Besides, no homosexually people can visit the schools anymore. Think - in what democratic country, the minister is deciding what children should wear, not the parents?
We have been FORCED to learn religion. Islam, protestant and Jewish people in Poland had to send their children to private schools. Well, insted of religion, you can learn ethics, but only few schools got ethics teachers.
I hope that the current people will be better (as Poland had elections some time ago). At least they won't have such shitty ideas.

I don't see the parents complaining lol...
Hmm privately speaking, sometimes some homosexual people irritate me and make me uncomfortable and I feel they are "racist" to people like me, especially in fashion photography, I guess I love women, but the women love me taking their picture too, I know I make them very comfortable and exceed their expectations of the experience...
but still, you can't exclude or ban ppl because they bat for the wrong team...
I was a teacher here for a while, it's eye-opening, the teachers themselves have no education, the majority seem to be very weak, naive, little experience or culture behind them and ALL of them actually don't have perfect spelling, knowledge of history, current affairs etc. I was shocked...
Where I live it is pretty bad, 14 year olds can't spell four letter words sometimes. There's a whole section of people who are never going to have a job, except sell drugs, and then attend university of crime in prison.
So I can understand your politicians making drastic measures in schools...
