Re: Terminator Salvation
Yea 4th of June here too. I don't think I'm going to see midnight premier though because I'm not sure it's worth all the problems. I've regreted HP5 and Quantum of Solace premiers aswell even though I know T4 is going to be miles better.

Re: Terminator Salvation
We are giving Bale too much credit. Keep in mind, he IS NOT the best Batman, and the new Batmans movies ONLY kick ass because of Ledger.
In order of worst to best Batman actors:
5. George Clooney
4. Christian Bale
3. Val Kilmer
2. Michael Keaton
1. Adam West
Honestly I thought Depp should have done Batman, he would have played him really well. Then again, what role DOESN'T he play well? Too obvious though. I even think Hugh Jackman wouldn't of made a bad bat. But Bale = Fail.

Re: Terminator Salvation
I disagree with you on such a huge level that I feel like I shouldn't even start arguing.
Batman Begins didn't even had Heath Ledger and it's still a masterpiece.
Christian Bale is not the only reason that the remade Batman franchize owns so much. Chris Nolan - director, writer and producer - takes at least 65% of the credit. I guess you know him, he's the director of Memento.
Want a movie in which Johnny Depp was ridiculus? Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He was sort of homosexual in that movie.
Johnny Depp is indeed a good actor. I've liked him since I saw Edward Scissorhands. But he doesn't have the strong body that Batman requires. He's rather skinny and short.
Chris Bale is an awesome actor. Ever seen American Psycho, Equilibrium, The Mechanist or The Prestige? You will see what I'm talking about.

Re: Terminator Salvation
Terminator Salvation is an absolute shitstorm. Terrible, an embarrassment to the series much like T3 which was a flaccid clone of T2.
The Dark Knight was excellent, but Christian Bale isn't the reason for it. It's the screenplay and Heath Ledger's performance.
Batman Begins has a great screenplay but the dialogue and actors, including Bale, are subpar. The movie is mediocre, even more so in the shadow of the Dark Knight.
As for the best Batman... Adam West
But seriously, I don't think Clooney would take the cake as the best. Not sure who would since most of the Batman movies before Batman Begins were sort of spoofs. Not to be taken seriously. Although Heath Ledger vs Jack Nickolson as "whose the better joker" is a good debate.
Bale isn't that great of an actor, I mean he's not bad but he's limited. People have the Hugh Laurie complex for him. Having only one character, although an advanced one, is still a limit of one which is a limitation nonetheless.
Keanue Reeves has this problem with only having one character except the character he's limited to is stale and elementary, which means any foolass could do Reeves' job for him. And probably better.

Re: Terminator Salvation
I may be misunderstanding but this makes me think you thought the list was best to worst. I was worst to best, with Clooney being the worst and West the best.Hammer[HK]Time! wrote: But seriously, I don't think Clooney would take the cake as the best.
One thing is for certain: Even though I don't think they have yet to cast the PERFECT Batman, you have to admit that in EVERY Batman movie since 89' has casted some of the villains so awesomely it's unreal. I mean, what could ever be more perfect than:
Jim Carrey as the Riddler
Danny DeVito as Penguin
Jack Nicholson/Heath Ledger as the Joker (Your very spot on it IS debatable)
Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy
They could have done better with Two-Face and Mr. Freeze though.
I will give it to you that Bale isn't THAT bad, and he is physically perfect for the role in that his height and weight are identicle to the comic description and depiction.

Re: Terminator Salvation
Bale needed to let up on the whole gravelly voice thing in Dark Knight, too much. WE GET IT, HE'S A DIFFERENT PERSON IN THAT COSTUME. Other than that, excellent film.

Re: Terminator Salvation
You can't be serious about Adam West guys... Even his outfit was ridiculus, besides; noone remembers him.
