Black Mesa:Source
Basically a port of HL into the Source Engine.
TRAILER: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lul60ixy_40&feature=fvw
SITE: http://www.blackmesasource.com
I'm impressed by the trailer editing, the music, a faithful reproduction of HL but with improvements and nice little details.

Yes I'm sure, that's leaked Aplha version. The mod hasn't been released yet.

I wish I would be such a hardcore modder. That mod is hot!

Re: Black Mesa:Source
Source engine is one of the best if seen in my life *heh*..
But its Time for a Source engine 2, u see that the engine is on its limit (in HL2 Ep2 and L4D2)
But i hope they finish the mod and dont cancel it like the DX one (ore its still living?)

Re: Black Mesa:Source
I facepalm at people who demand a new source engine. There is the Source Engine for HL2. There is the Source Engine 2 for Ep1. There is the Source Engine 2007 for Ep2, Portal and TF2. (I dunno what versions are being used for l4d etc) It is constantly being updated for the games that use it. 2007 and first version look and run very different to each other.

Re: Black Mesa:Source
Sure, but the mod the engine. they use the same engine in all games, HL2 was the first one and ends HL2 Ep2 and i think the use it in Ep3 too, and L4D use the engine too, nothing more :/
In HL2 Lost coast they implant HDR Rendering to the engine, HL2 Ep2 they sharp the HL2 Textures.. and they done that in all other games

Re: Black Mesa:Source
No, they upgrade the engine each and every time with fancier effects, more coding etc. Hence new versions. At the core it's basically the same thing ticking over, but they improve it with just about every game. For instance: I can run HL2 at a whopping 180 fps at 1280x1024 on full detail at dxlevel 90. However, for Ep2, I have to move down to 1024x768 to get a decent framrate (can't remember exactly how smooth, maybe 40-60 fps, maybe less) Why? Engine upgrade.
TF2 I have to fully downgrade to dxlevel 80 before I can run it properly.
