If I restore my computer will it get rid of trojan viruses?

My kid's computer has got a virus on it, I need to connect to the internet while in Safe Mode with Networking, but I while in the correct mode there is no internet connection. I would advise setting your computer on fire before the night or the trojans will come out and tattoo those links on your forehead.
