Does DX3 ignore the events of DX2?
I know it's a prequel but I'm wondering if there will be clues/hints that would make DX2 worth play first? I'm sure there will be info about UNATCO and nano augmented agents, but I never played DX2 and I know it was a disappointment so I thought maybe they would just skip the events of that game.. does that make sense? Is DX2 REALLY that much of a disappointment?

well, i started playing DX2 a while back (my bro removed it from his pc a few months later), and its... well,... not good, but not bad.... its just average... not better than the 1st, but the addition with the blackmarket augs for example were one part why i liked it... but one dislike was the lack of the skill point system that DX1 had... so the game lacks things DX1 had, but also has stuff that DX1 hasnt... you have to decide for yourself how you like the game (maybe by playing the game xD), as everyone can have his own opinion on things
In times of darkness, when hope seems to be lost, one last chance of victory rises from the shadows. This army doesn't know fear, they only know war. They fight, no matter what the cost, no matter how the odds are... They fight! And when the last enemy has fallen, they vanish back into the shadows, watching humanity, and protecting them from annihilation... They are the guardian angels of mankind, and they will never surrender, never retreat,... And never stop searching for the truth.

Re: Does DX3 ignore the events of DX2?
DXHR has focused on being faithful to DX1 and appears to have done this very well with storyline and characters and some aspects of maps and universe.
The general feeling about DX2 is largely that it's a great game, but not as a sequel to DX. Storyline issues, UI/gameplay usability, graphics and "shooter" style maps with little to explore/interact with are the main complaints. In 2004 only the intro movie would run for me, in fact I've always had tech issues preventing full playthrough until recently, now I have seen so much of it on Youtube and in people's houses that I can not be bothered to play it start to finish, it's like I've played it already. The maps don't excite me at all.
After DXHR it is hard to say what story will happen next from Eidos. DXHR is supposed to include the Statue of Liberty bombing, which takes us pretty close to DX1. So I wonder what will happen in DX4 and DX5. It's been hinted already, they won't remake DX1 or DX2. If I were Eidos, I would make DX4 and DX5 and then hand the SDK to the community to remake DX1 and DX2. DX2 remake would be a competition.
For me I think Ion Storm completely screwed up making DX2 assume the Helios Ending in DX1.

I never played DX2, too.
When it first came out, my PC was too weak for that game, so it lags with min graphics :s
Then i had some issues with errors, cause i had a broken iso.
Then i bought the game for 5 Bucks and then, my pC was too good, my PC cant handle the game, dunno why.
The resolution is...balls and the speed of my PC is to much i think, so it runs with 2x ore sometimes 3x speed, ore it lags at all ore it doesnt start up.
So i doesnt give DX2 another chance, cause i edited the exe with widescreen hack and so on, nah just..bad.
I never played it trought, so i cant give a statement to its storyline. anihex gave me a savegame, where i can kill JC Denton, so i killed the game and never started it up again, sad ending xDDD

I don't want to give too many spoilers...
but Deus Ex takes place after "The Fall", which is why DXHR looks more advanced in 2027 than DX1 does in 2052.
Also some major plot spoiler in the comic about Megan's research. It gives you an idea as to what may happen towards the end of Human Revolution, a kind of Tong ending seems possible.
