New GD 0 aug server help

Hi all

I am renting a gamingdeluxe.co.uk DX server for the next year since I cannot join any 0 aug servers with a decent ping. I know that FGS may have had some experience in this and hoped could help with running DXWeaponSelector.

Ive done some searching and realised that there are some issues with the Gamingdeluxe .inis and command lines..how do these need to be altered?

Any help would be awesome, theres a severe lack of servers!

im guessing you know how to set the weapons (in the mutators.ini file under '[mPack1.DXWeaponSelector]')

then all you have to do it change the servers command line, there is an option for it in your Admin CP.
Just add the bit in italics:

DXMP_Smuggler?mutator=mPack1.DXWeaponSelector?game=...?-server?log=deusex.log

the other bits might not be the same but the 'mutator=mPack1.DXWeaponSelector' is what you need! hope it works

Thx Blade, oh and make sure GD got the firewall off lol, we took a month to realize he had the firewall turned on or something.

That's excellent news. Expect an army of mappers with zero aug maps wanting you to host

Hi again,

The server seems to be performing well and has had a few players over the weekend. miniMTL and the weaponsselector all seem to be working OK now however someone mentioned that I was missing a GPF fix and that the server fire rate should be sorted.

Am I right in thinking that they refer to the Caran D'Ache patch? All links to pages containing it seem to have expired!

I can't help you with your problem however I notice you are only hosting Smuggler and Iceworld, I was wandering whether you intended to add more maps to your maplist?

the mm222 fixes some bugs like medkit gpf and faster fire rates, drop bug and some other things
However it was worked on by you-know-who, a person who many people wouldn't trust, so use at your own risk...

i think it may cause some slight limitations to performance... but since you're hosting 0aug I dont think it requires as much erm resources. (probably the only bad thing i see in it)

I've been out of the DX1 loop for a while so Im not sure how big the problems like firerate bugs are. Is it an easy exploit for people to try? mtl222 seems to have A LOT of features

Well, Dejavu STOLE the source code of miniMTL.
It was never supposed to have "A LOT of features", but only provide security features.
That's why the "m i n i" in the name.
Apart of the fact that dejavu illegally uses other people's intellectual property, he compeltely missed the point of that mod.

I've been giving zero aug some thought and working on very small maps, hopefully I'll have something worth showing you soon.

BTW. Chins also doing stuff at 0augs. he has and is working on amazing 0aug maps.
