Hey guys, basically i've moved to university and annoyingly we need to open ports for whatever games we play.
It worked fine at home so it isn't my computer's firewall or anything like that. I did a search and found a list of ports needed for your server to show up on the server list and tried that, however the server list still does not show up for me. Just tried joining the Cozmo RPG server from the link at the top of the page and it worked fine, just would be nice to see the server list.
Thanks guys.
What ports do i need to open to see the server list?

For a second I thought you were another spambot

Re: What ports do i need to open to see the server list?
Just.. TCP/UDP both..
7790-7792.
All others are closed/shutdown.
EDIT: Wait, you don't need to port-forward to see serverlist. It must be your antivirus or firewall. Nothing related with ports.

Download DXSL here in the event you don't get it working, portable server list. Alpha link (so you may need to register) as I could only find v.3 on FGS and I don't recommend using either version above v.1.

Cheers guys, i'd already opened those ports and it isn't working
Also tried the DXSL from Deus Ex Alpha but it says 'Couldn't connect to master server'.
I found a web based server list but it doesn't list the IP adresses so i cannt join them
Anything else i could try?
Cheers again guys.

DXSL > Settings button > MasterServer Settings.
paste this..
you *might* want to put a slash ('/') and put/paste that ahead your DXMP.net masterserver, to keep both of those masterservers in DXSL.
paste this..
Code: Select all
master0.gamespy.com:28900

Pardon, what do you mean with "open ports"?Skullmaster wrote:Cheers guys, i'd already opened those ports and it isn't working

I pretty much assume that there's a proxy server from the university between you and the internet, which means you don't have a direct internet connection.
Not all programs support establishing connections over a proxy.
Fortunately, there are programs like FreeCAP or Proxifier that encapsulate programs to go over a proxy even if they don't support it.
Unfortunately, this just counts for connection-oriented TCP protocols. DeusEx uses the connection-less UDP protocol which cannot be routed through a proxy directly.
Nobody is perfect...
