Actual chess mini-game in-game would be cool. Even if not so complex as Chess, just "fox and geese" game or a few pieces.

Use security bots for Rooks.

OK if you can't decache and hack Kalman, then maybe movers and some 3-level chess game like Star Trek? Complete with Karkians who eat you.
