Not sure how popular it would be, but I'd be happy to see the weps varying a bit more, so a low tech map, a pistol map, a couple of maps at least in the rotation where people can't use assault weps.
@ Shadow you know I've been thinking about adding LAM's and so I wouldn't mind trying out a modded reduced damage LAM if someone would be kind enough to make one, ideally it would have to replace the standard LAM if that's possible.
Regarding custom weapons, I want to steer clear of this for the 0-Augs server, the idea is to keep the classic weapons but with custom maps. However I don't mind making custom versions for other servers, as you are aware I'm currently making a bot version of Office and a WW2 version of Stalkyard, I'm more then happy to do these by request.
Regarding beta version maps staying on server with errors - I have recently introduced a three month "update or it goes on the mapvote" policy, I know three months is a long time but I want to slowly introduce these rules at first, eventually that will drop to two months and possibly less in future depending on frequency of maps available in future.
I know you're frustrated with the current state of DXMP with the lack of introductory servers for beginners and perhaps the lack of variety in servers, but my personal quest with the 0-Augs server is to have a community driven server where the community can have their maps hosted and can also vote on which maps they'd personally like to have hosted. I also believe that there is a good mix of maps styles and sizes, I don't want to cater for one section of the community. For example I have had complaints from the pros that want more small maps the size of Iceworld, others want more large maps with room to sniper. I want to have something for everyone if possible, it will never be perfect, it will never please everyone, but if we can please most of the community most of the time then we are doing very well.
Looking at your post from the other topic, i'd like to expand on other topics, the subject of Chees' Concordia map - It was simply too big for the 0-Augs server, this view was shared by alot of the players in the server on numerous occasions, I'm not saying everyone thought that but it was a good number enough for me to remove it from the server, it plays very well in Altfire. Also the mapper himself shared this view after some consideration.
On the subject of maps having to be ridiculously small to get on FGS 0-Augs server - yes I did make some extremely small maps, these were made in a very short time and were made on purpose as to quickly build up a number of maps ready for the then future 0-Augs server. Currently these maps are not fancied much in the voting and somewhat ironically (since you mentioned THC) Mini Dust is currently hosted not on FGS but on THC 0-Augs. I'm not looking exclusively for small maps, the maps I've been working on this year are mainly medium/large sized for 0-Augs (Stalkyard, Office and Turnpike). And so I'm looking for a mix of small, medium and somewhat large maps, the main points being that they have to be playable for those with low end equipment and not be massive, those are the reasons why I don't want to host BBPL's Arabian Palace map as phenomenal as it looks.
As for people abusing the game, well that's another can of worms entirely - I don't believe these people even have fun when they play, reducing DXMP to a mathematical equation is not for me.
I know you're very passionate about DXMP (and if everyone shared even 1/10th of your passion then DXMP would be amazing) but everyone has their own vision of what they believe DXMP is all about, afterall we are all different, if we were all the same then I believe that would be truly boring. The community has had massive problems over the years which is a shame, we could've achieved so much more I totally agree with you here. It's odd that there's no decent Capture The Flag or Bot servers around for example, also there's mods that have been floating around for years now that seemingly have no end date in sight which is a shame too.
@ Kalman I can remove StrangeDocks_beta2 for you, I hope you pick it back up in future.

100% right on what I said. 'If the players feel it's not right then remove it. My thought on any map on any server when people complain it's to big or small....it all depends on how many players are on the server at that given time that rules the out come of game play on almost all map's. Take Halo MP, Some big maps are boring when only 5 players on that server and map, 20 players and it turns into epic battles and overall a good map to fight on. Same with DX. yet a small map like Ice World 12 players on it is total mayhem, your shot 2 seconds after choosing the weapons so it = no fun.

I think you are right to keep default weps...
At the end of the day, it's your server and you don't have to bear in mind others at all.
If people use it, that's the proof of the pudding, so you've nothing to worry about.
I agree with everything you say, except about mapsize and my disagreement is quite large, so to speak.
I could sit here and throw lots of arguments to you, but it's pointless. The only thing that scares me, is if you became FGS leader in future and tried to apply the same to custom. You're basically saying that CMD , Cath and A51 are "wrong" and maps need to be smaller than smuggler, or they can't be enjoyed. I see it as a form of lazyness by players, who like spawnkilling and small maps like iceworld are just feeding the bad players who squeeze advantages at every opportunity, rather than challenge themselves. You're going to flog this "one room" map idea to death maybe. THC do the same thing, what's the *loving* point of having A51 in the maplist, if you keep servertravelling back to Smuggler.
Do you not see a correlation between map preference and high scoring players? Does that not tell you that some people are entrenched in comfort zones of rifling people who can't throw grenades, turn on augs, or hide.
Chin remember when we started, it was Botservers and GODZ, nothing like it exists now, lams even are removed from altfire. There must be a way to make it enjoyable for skilled and unskilled players at the same time.
This might be odd, but can I make an additional map suggestion for the vote/server? I know DXMS has run its course, and some of the maps weren't worth hosting at all, but there was always one map that really stood out to me; DXMS_NostroCorp from the final pack, shortly before DXMS died. It didn't get much of a chance to be played at all, but I always imagined gameplay here would be very interesting. It looks pretty nice too.
