Group memberships?

Apologies if this has been covered in an FAQ somewhere, but I was messing around in my control panel and found the "Group membership" section.

I'm a member of some of those groups, a non-member of others. Couple of questions:

1) Can I see more forums by joining the Off Beaters?
2) Can I control my profile appearance in forum, the way some have done with crazy colours and 10 dot ranks? Specifically:
- If I want to show in "FGS-DX" pink, how would/could I do that?
- If I (try to) set up my own group to manipulate my appearance, can I do that?

The pink group was designed especially for the cheken man a.k.a. DJ. Just for fun, there's no other purpose for it other then to satisfy DJ's love of all things pink.

Yeah, as Sasquatch stated. It's a hidden sub-forum to post fun or adult content without getting in conflict with LAW and without injuring DJs virginity.
Unfortunately, there's almost no activity. Obviously we aren't as filthy as we thought.

2) Can I control my profile appearance in forum, the way some have done with crazy colours and 10 dot ranks? Specifically:

Well, those ranks are user-sepcific, applied by admin over the years. Actually there's a special rank assigned to the FGS-Members group, however it doesn't seem to work. Actually you should have blue squares like FlyingGhost.

- If I want to show in "FGS-DX" pink, how would/could I do that?

The FGS-DX member group existed before already but as chinny stated, the pink thing was done for our beloved DJ. You're part of the FGS-DX group too but since your default group membership is FGS Members, your color is blue. Default group membership cannot be set by users afaik.

- If I (try to) set up my own group to manipulate my appearance, can I do that?

Setting up own groups is ot possible I think. I don't even know if we could alter the user rights in a way to enable something like that.

Well, those ranks are user-sepcific, applied by admin over the years.

I might ask you (or another admin) to set up a custom group for me/alter my settings on my behalf in the near future.
