Short Recap on Speedhacking in DXMP

Post by synthetic »

Here is a short article on the nature of several speedhacking issues in DXMP, explaining why it happens as well as what fixes exist.

http://hivemindx.enjin.com/home/m/10539 ... le/1464541

In summary, this game needs a patch or there is no point in playing it. Most players with up-to-date computers will be cheating, whether they know it or not. Fixing it client-side can range anywhere from complicated to simply impossible (in few cases for certain laptops, no reported cases in dxmp).

It's a pretty good game, when all you give players is a sawn-off, crowbar and flamethrower...

...or some npc bots to kill and some locks a team must figure out.

I sincerely hope this was not addressed to me.

And Shadowrunner, wrong thread. Opening post describes how your sawn-offs and flamethrowers all shoot at different speeds, and in the end of the day you will come here to complain about the enemy shooting his sawn off 2 times faster than you. The link I've provided attempts to explain to people the issue exists, is widespread, as well as what causes it. Anyone criticizing my efforts either wishes DXMP dead or is severely retarded, both fairly frequent traits in this community so neither would surprise me.

Right now I can come to a server of your choosing, and shoot my sawnoff several times faster than you, while keeping my fps nice and low.. 60 if you wish.

Of course it was you are the OP. :)

Stop being so anal about it. It's a thirteen year old game, take it for what it is.

Says the guy making assault gametype. Jesus what irony.

Calling me anal for finding cheats to be, well, unfair to all players, just proves my suspicion that holding a pancake on your head might prove to be too difficult task for you after all.

I feared as much (regarding firerate abuse even at low fps), which sadly makes the fps scoreboard indicator potentially useless.

Let's keep it civil guys, we're all adults here, no insults please.

Can the frame rate not be locked universally?

sighh.

admittedly i'm yet to fully understand this because i've taken steps and downloads and .ini changes to cap my fps at 59, but after doing this accusations of fps abuse directed at me increased, which spun my brain around a bit.

Possibility #1: You're not a cheater but since a lot of others are, you will be called and considered one. That wont change unless cheats are fixed in dx.
Possibility #2: Your low ping makes it seem like your fire rate is messed up.
Possibility #3: You have the 3rd bug mentioned in my article that also represents the worst problem right now; you might have to disable several BIOS settings that control variable CPU speed, but I would recommend starting with setting power management profile to Performance.

All in all, post your OS and processor make, and we see if you have speed stepping issue. Right now everybody calls everybody cheater regardless of whether its true or not.

Possibility #4 - Ken lost the *loving* plot along time ago.

You've become a paranoid mess honestly, shutup and play.

Moaning about people possibly "speed hacking" and whatnot when you walk around with a deusex.ini so far modified beyond the original basics makes me and alot of people giggle, infact you use 2 different ini's aswell.

PS: Your attempts at belittling people aren't even remotely funny, a pancake shatdafakap, i read the metabolic end product you post sometimes and literally look up into the sky wondering why, if god exists, did he make people say the things you do sometimes.

Ever stopped to wonder why you've lost half your clan? fix up.

I think more people should have the attitude that alvind and fear are portraying, the game is far too old for drastic changes to be made, altho the changes should have been made already, there would still be arguments and complaints about something or other. Moaners will be moaners.

You create something new just gives them something new to complain about, catch 22 :-D
