228mb Texture workshop
I've uploaded a collection of textures including photorealistic tiles, it's 228 mb. Download it here:
http://www.filedropper.com/textureworkshop
Contents:
SG custom textures
Unreal textures
UR custom textures
WW2 custom textures
Hengsha custom textures
Miscellaneous custom textures.
Miscellaneous custom textures from SP mods and DXMP mods/maps
Photorealistic jpeg texture collection - tiled textures, amazing collection.
Textures come in 3 forms.
1. .pcx
2. .utx
3. jpeg/bmp
How to use
The pcx can be opened in photoshop/paint or loaded into the SDK using "import" in "textures". Note that editing and saving a pcx in such software will cause a darkening of the image, if not dealt with. There's no way to view the utx without loading, but some of the names should give you clues. The utx can be loaded and individual textures "exported" as pcx, then re-imported into your own texture packages. The jpeg and bmp files also, can be flattened, made square and powers of 2 and saved as .pcx files, ready for import. I hope editors and mappers find this package useful, some of the textures are well-known, but there is some unique stuff and the photorealistic package is extremely useful.
If using the photorealistic, use with normal SP dx lighting and tint the lights with colour and saturate it about 8-30 on the scale and you will get amazing results. The Cathedral WW2 map is using textures from this pack. On some people's graphics set up, they will have orgasms over the light/texture.
I'm working on drains and sewer covers at the moment for UR, but will consider requests if I have time.

Also worth noting that you can use the program Irfanview for "Batch Conversions".

Re: 228mb Texture workshop
wow this is great, mappers are really lucky to have this. I remember struggling to find the most appropriate textures for my maps back in the day, a collection like this would've made my job much easier.

Re: 228mb Texture workshop
Previews would just be impossible from the time point of view.
I did post the photorealistic pack here in the past, it has been available before.

I didn't say a preview of each picture did I? I said a preview. He could show as many as he wants... 1, 3, 5, 10, 20, etc. Just want to see what it is.Alvind wrote:Previews of 228mb worth of textures..........think that one through lol

I haz dropbox, didn't realize I could add files, I thought it was purely for images. Thanks Jager, you've been very useful, I''ll add it to dropbox over this weekend and post it here, awesome.

You did not do what you stated earlier.

Re: 228mb Texture workshop
Since this just got bumped, I'll add that Paint.NET can load, save-as, and convert images to/from .PCX... With no noticeable quality loss or darkening, possibly none of either. I discovered PCX usage was possible in the program last year.
GIMP 2.8 also works with PCX images, and has heaps more features than Paint.NET in terms of actual image editing, especially for texturing as you'll find a make seamless process option that really helps for custom textures.

Re: 228mb Texture workshop
I been using Adobe Photo Shop 7 + serial for years... Naughty me! Works great and simple for custom textures. I'll upload it for others but it's a 153mb zip!
Meh if other stuff does a great job then carry on folks
